Senior/Lead Quality Engineer

We are looking for a Senior or Lead Quality Engineer.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead Automation-First Strategy: Define and evolve an automation-first quality strategy to align with the platform's maturing, complex architecture, ensuring robust testing for scalability and reliability.
• Dogfood Katalon Products: Act as an internal customer by dogfooding Katalon's tools to enhance product maturity, identifying gaps and driving improvements through hands-on feedback.
• Champion Shift-Left Testing: Collaborate with stakeholders during design reviews and feature discussions to embed quality early, providing expert insights on testability and non-functional requirements.
• Drive Agile Excellence: Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, provide accurate sizing for quality engineering tasks, and ensure alignment with sprint goals and deliverables.
• Mentor Quality Engineers: Coach team members on best practices in automation, testing methodologies, and tooling, fostering skill growth and contributing to high-quality sprint deliverables.
• Support Customer Success: Partner with Customer Support Specialists to triage escalations, reproduce defects in-house, and drive timely resolution to maintain customer satisfaction.
• Innovate with Emerging Tech: Leverage AI, cloud platforms, and modern testing tools to enhance testing speed, quality, and cost-efficiency, staying ahead of industry trends.

• Testing Expertise: Deep understanding of test methodologies (functional, non-functional, regression) and principles, with a focus on automation-driven quality assurance.
• Automation Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience building automation frameworks using tools like Katalon, Cypress, or Playwright, with a focus on scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Programming Proficiency: Strong skills in object-oriented programming (OOP) with expertise in Groovy, Java, or Python, enabling robust test script development.
• Web, Mobile and API Testing: Proven experience in mobile (iOS/Android) and API testing, including RESTful services and tools like Postman or custom scripts.
• CI/CD and Cloud Knowledge: Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for seamless integration.
• AI Testing Skills: Knowledge of integrating AI into testing workflows and validating AI-powered features, ensuring accuracy and reliability in intelligent systems.
• Agile Proficiency: Extensive experience in Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe), with a track record of delivering quality within iterative development cycles.
• Multitasking and Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Leadership in Quality: Demonstrated ability to guide teams on testability, acceptance criteria, non-functional requirements, and definition of done, ensuring comprehensive quality gates.
• Communication Skills: Excellent English communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Bonus Points:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with security testing methodologies and tools.
• Proficiency in performance testing with tools like K6 or JMeter.
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing platforms such as LambdaTest, Kobiton, BrowserStack, or Sauce Labs.
• PSM I certification or equivalent Agile/Scrum credentials.
