Synopsis Of Duties
The Senior
Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing electrical systems and automation solutions for construction projects. This role involves ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical installations and automated systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering or automation, with a focus on industrial construction applications.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Design and Planning:
• Develop concept/basic/detailed electrical and automation system designs for construction projects.
• Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create accurate and detailed electrical schematics and layout plans.
• Ensure designs comply with local electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards, green standard (LEED, BCA...)
Value engineering:
• Able to propose the alternative options/solutions for cost saving (investment cost saving, operation cost saving...)
• Life cycle cost analysis.
Project Coordination:
• Collaborate with architects,
project managers, other engineers, sub-contractor, vendors to integrate electrical and automation systems into overall project plans.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical input and recommendations.
• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure proper installation of electrical and automation systems.
System Integration:
• Design and implement automation solutions, including control systems, PLC programming, and SCADA systems.
• Ensure seamless integration of automation systems with other building systems (e.g., HVAC, lighting, security).
Site Inspection and Supervision:
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Identify and resolve any electrical or automation issues that arise during construction.
• Supervise installation activities to ensure quality and adherence to project timelines.
Quality Control:
• Implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of electrical installations and automation systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and tests to verify the quality of materials and workmanship.
• Address any quality issues promptly and effectively.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Provide regular progress reports to management and clients.
• Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory and company standards.
Health and Safety Compliance:
• Ensure all electrical and automation activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Promote a culture of safety on construction sites and ensure the implementation of safety protocols.
