Senior Product Engineer (Java, AWS)

Summary: We are looking for a visionary Product Engineer that is passionate about using AI for product development. They must have a strong foundation in backend engineering, capable of building and integrating frontend systems, backend systems, customer service portals, and operations portals using AI tools. In this role, you will be at the forefront of adopting an AI-first approach to product development, continually challenging existing workflows and foundational engineering principles, while engaging in rapid experimentation to enhance value delivery to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
Take the lead with AI-first adoption, leveraging AI tools and prompt engineering skills to automate work wherever possible so that we can improve time-to-value.
"Question the requirements", to get to the essence of what is actually needed, ensuring that we are building the right things right.
Collaborate with a new, AI-first product development team where you'll be at the heart of building and scaling innovative enterprise financial products, driving meaningful impact from day one.
Take end-to-end ownership of the product, designing systems to satisfy customers and validating assumptions with data driven insights.

Must-have skills
At least 10 years of backend engineering experience, particularly Java
Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including designing and deploying scalable systems, working with core services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda), and building cloud-native architectures
Experience with agentic coding (e.g., building or working with AI-driven/automated coding systems)
System Architecture Design: Strong experience in designing and implementing system architectures, including defining technical solutions and making high-level design decisions.
AI Tools: Proficient with Claude Code, or other autonomous capable coding agent. Comfortable integrating AI tools into the development workflow.
