JOB OVERVIEW
The Quality Officer is responsible for supporting the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) of SGS Vietnam.
The role also supports SGS Vietnam in maintaining its accreditation and regulatory compliance in accordance with applicable ISO standards and relevant Vietnamese government regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of SGS Vietnam's Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO/IEC 17020, ISO/IEC 17065, and other applicable standards.
Support quality management activities across SGS Vietnam, including laboratory testing, inspection, and product certification operations.
Coordinate with external auditors and accreditation bodies during assessments, audits, and accreditation activities.
Conduct technical and internal quality audits for SGS laboratories to ensure compliance with approved testing methods, quality control requirements, and applicable standards.
Monitor non-conformities and follow up on corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely and effective closure.
Analyze audit findings and non-conformities to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.
Review accreditation documents, technical records, laboratory data, and supporting documentation to ensure validity and compliance with accreditation requirements.
Support the Quality Manager in delivering quality-related training, Quality Talks, and other activities to strengthen employees' quality awareness and commitment.
Support the establishment, implementation, and management of ISO/IEC 17065 Product Certification systems for relevant laboratory and inspection activities.
Support registration, renewal, and maintenance of government licenses and regulatory approvals in accordance with applicable decrees, circulars, decisions, and other legal requirements.
Work closely with laboratories, inspection teams, certification teams, and other business units to ensure consistent implementation of quality requirements.
Support Operational Excellence initiatives, including follow-up activities related to LEAN and Digital projects.
Perform other quality-related duties as assigned by the Quality & Operational Excellence Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific discipline such as Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in Laboratory Quality Assurance, Laboratory Quality Management, Technical Auditing, or a related field.
Good knowledge of Quality Management Systems and relevant standards, particularly:
ISO/IEC 17025
ISO 9001
ISO/IEC 17020
ISO/IEC 17065
Hands-on knowledge of laboratory testing, method validation, and quality control, preferably in chemical and/or physical testing.
Experience in conducting or supporting internal and external audits.
Good understanding of corrective and preventive action management and non-conformity handling.
Ability to review technical documents, laboratory records, accreditation documents, and regulatory requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
Good communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Customer-focused and able to work effectively with different departments and external organizations.
