Site Health Safety Environment Supervisor

Main Purpose of the Job:
To collect, maintain, supervise all Site Safety Health & Environment records at site office as well as to monitor basic site safety conditions.
Job Description (Key Responsibilities):
1. To assist the Construction Manager/ HSE Manager in setting up the procedures for Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) on the Project;
2. To supervise the situation of issuing, applying and saving HSE records;
3. To work with the site administration team to setup the filling system for the compilation of the site HS&E records;
4. To supervise HS&E of all building work by the contractors from the commencement of construction until the day of practical completion and ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with the approved method statements and risk assessments;
5. To produce a site HS&E induction in dual language for the Project;
6. To be responsible for ensuring this is being delivered by the main contractor in accordance with client policy;
7. To work with the contractors to ensure the HS&E induction where not carried out by Arcadis is to a standard acceptance to Arcadis.
8. To attend regular meetings with the contractor in order to ensure HS&E elements are being communicated correctly to the workforce.
9. To review the contractors health and safety plan and advise the status to the Construction Manager.
10. To review Contractor method statements and risk assessments and advise the status to the Senior Construction Manager.
11. To support the Construction Manager in enforcing the site Health & Safety rules.
12. To ensure the contractors are keeping the site in a clean and safe condition at all times.
13. To ensure the site welfare facilities are being managed and maintained correctly by the contractors.
14. To carry out a minimum of 3 formal recorded HSE inspections a week.
15. To carry out the monthly HS&E audits on the contractors and site conditions.
16. To be responsible for onsite safety management including recording all HSE contraventions on the Arcadis HSE system if being implemented on the site.
17. To maintain a daily detailed diary of site activities ensuring that any HS&E issues are captured for the purposes of the weekly progress meetings with the contractors.
18. To work shifts as required by the Project Director/Construction Manager should this be required in order to ensure continuity of contractors works.
19. To perform other tasks as reasonably required from time to time as requested by the Construction Manager or Project Director.
20. To work with and train the supervisors of the main contractor to ensure consistent understanding of the site rules are enforced to the workforce.
21. To attend toolbox talk once a week with the main contractor and where necessary, conduct the toolbox talk in dual language.
