Role Description The Senior QC Engineer - Auto + Manual is a full-time remote role responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through a combination of automated and manual testing. This position involves designing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts; identifying, documenting, and tracking defects; and collaborating closely with development, product, and project teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues. The Senior QC Engineer will help define and improve quality standards, implement test automation frameworks where appropriate, and monitor test results to ensure adherence to quality objectives and timelines.
The role also includes mentoring other quality engineers, contributing to continuous improvement of testing processes, and providing clear, timely communication on quality risks and status to stakeholders.
Job Description
1. Requirements Analysis and Test Design
Proactively collaborate with Business Analysts (BAs), Product Owners (POs), and other stakeholders to analyze business requirements, User Stories, and system specification documents.
Define the appropriate testing scope, methods, and strategies based on the risk level of each feature.
Develop Test Plans and design Test Cases and Test Scenarios with appropriate test coverage, including edge cases and unexpected scenarios.
Perform functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, and API testing as required by the project.
2. Test Execution and Data Validation
Perform manual testing of new features, system changes, and existing business workflows.
Conduct API testing using Postman or equivalent tools; validate requests, responses, HTTP status codes, and data consistency.
Write SQL queries to retrieve, compare, and validate data in databases.
Verify end-to-end data flows across the User Interface (UI), Network, API, Database, and relevant downstream systems.
Analyze and test asynchronous processing workflows, verifying processing statuses and data outcomes across systems.
Perform regression testing to ensure that changes do not adversely affect existing functionalities.
3. Defect Management and Root Cause Analysis
Log, document, and track defects using Jira or equivalent defect management tools.
Classify defects based on severity, priority, and business impact.
Collaborate with the development team to reproduce defects, analyze root causes, and verify fixes.
Proactively investigate complex defects related to APIs, data, asynchronous processing, and cross-system interactions.
Analyze escaped defects, identify root causes, and propose improvements to the testing process.
4. Team Collaboration and Quality Assurance
Work closely with BAs, Developers, and POs to clarify requirements, align on defect resolution approaches, and address issues affecting product quality.
Proactively communicate, challenge assumptions, and align on testing approaches when there are differing interpretations of requirements or assessments of defect impact.
Participate in reviews of User Stories, Test Cases, and defect reports to improve the team's deliverable quality.
Provide testing progress updates, report risks, and proactively communicate critical issues that may affect release schedules.
Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and provide support during deployment and go-live when required.
Job Requirements
5 years of software testing experience, with a strong foundation in Manual Testing and defect analysis.
Ability to independently manage the entire testing lifecycle for a module or a group of functionalities.
Experience testing SaaS systems.
Ability to independently trace and analyze defects across the entire flow: UI → Network → API → Database → downstream systems, including asynchronous processing scenarios.
Ability to develop risk-based Test Plans, define testing scope, and prioritize critical test scenarios.
Experience reviewing User Stories, Test Cases, and defect reports prepared by team members.
Ability to analyze escaped defects, identify root causes, and propose solutions to improve testing quality.
Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills to work with BAs, Developers, and POs to clarify requirements, negotiate resolution approaches, and resolve complex issues.
Strong sense of responsibility, ability to work independently, and a proactive approach to monitoring the quality of assigned modules.

Candidates with one or more of the following experiences will be given preference:
Experience in test automation using Python, Robot Framework, Newman, or pytest.
Understanding of Kafka and asynchronous data processing systems.
Experience working with Elasticsearch, Amazon S3, or Google Cloud Storage (GCS).
Knowledge of Multi-tenant Architecture in SaaS systems.
Ability to apply AI in testing workflows and validate the accuracy of AI-generated results.
Experience supporting UAT, deployment, and system operations during go-live.
Understanding of procurement, bidding, contracts, or shared Master Data management.
Ability to read and understand technical documentation in English.
