The Job
An exciting and challenging position exists as a Senior React Native Developer in DFO's global office. We are looking for someone who is passionate about what they do and enjoys working with a small team to create meaningful experiences with our e-commerce products, all the while supported by our designers and back-end developers who will build it if it can be imagined.
This position is an opportunity to get international training and has potential to travel to our global offices. We love what we do, and we want a Senior React Native developer who shares our passion.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs across both mobile platforms.
- Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms.
- Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native.
- Reach out to the open source community to encourage and help implement mission-critical software fixes-React Native moves fast and often breaks things.
Your Skills and Experience
YOUR SKILLS:
- Strong proficiency in developing native module iOS/Android
- Firm grasp of the JavaScript language including ES6+ syntax
- Strong proficiency in iOS/Android/React Native and Design Patterns
- Ability to write well-documented, clean Javascript code
- Rock solid at working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts
- Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle {{Android Studio, IntelliJ}}
- Understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage
Nice to have:
- Knowledge about: Flutter, Java, Swift, Firebase/Azure, NativeScript
- Basic communication in English
Soft skills:
- Strong attention to detail, and be able to write optimized, clean, and fast cross-browser front-end code;
- Ability to follow good coding conventions, design patterns to develop clean and maintainable project with large and complex code bases.
- Team-oriented, results-based attitude and work ethic;
- Able to work with limited supervision in a startup-like environment, self-start, perform due diligence, and raise issues transparently.
