Technical Architect Kotlin, Java, Spring Boot, AI

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Technical Architect to design a large-scale platform spanning multiple products, business domains, and shared services, with strong requirements for software quality, reliability, security, and scalability.

The project follows an AI-first approach across analysis, architecture, review, and implementation. The Technical Architect structures work for AI-assisted execution while retaining ownership of architectural decisions and validating the quality of all deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze business domains and define service boundaries, data ownership, and cross-service dependencies.
• Review business and technical contracts to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and risks before detailed design.
• Design service, database, API, event, and integration architectures, ensuring shared capabilities are reused across products.
• Produce architecture specifications and implementation contracts that enable developers and AI coding agents to implement solutions consistently.
• Design for scalability, security, resilience, observability, testing, and deployment appropriate to each delivery phase.
• Apply AI-first workflows through structured context, task decomposition, reusable skills, and validation gates.
• Review AI-generated documentation and code for architectural compliance and traceability to requirements, contracts, and approved decisions.
• Guide developers and collaborate with Business Analysts, QA, DevOps, and Security teams.
• Assess the impact of changes to requirements, contracts, and architecture.

Requirements:

• At least 7 years of software development experience, including 2 years as a Technical Architect, Solution Architect, or in an equivalent architectural role.
• Hands-on experience designing and delivering production systems, with the ability to explain architectural decisions, trade-offs, and outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of DDD, distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, and contract-first design.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, transaction boundaries, consistency, concurrency, idempotency, and failure handling.
• Experience designing multi-tenant systems with complex integrations, high availability, and horizontal scalability.
• Strong backend engineering experience with Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, relational databases, messaging, and API design.
• Working knowledge of cloud architecture, containers, CI/CD, observability, security, and disaster recovery.
• Practical experience using AI tools for technical work and willingness to follow an AI-first development workflow.
• Ability to validate AI outputs against authoritative sources, architecture reviews, and automated tests, and identify unsupported assumptions or conclusions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building platforms or ecosystems serving multiple products and business domains.
• Domain experience in POS/restaurant, retail, marketplaces, payments, loyalty, logistics, or accounting.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Kafka, OpenAPI, and Kubernetes.
• Experience developing reusable AI skills, shared project context, or automated architecture checks.
