Temporary Nurse

We are looking for an experienced seasonal Nurse for Point Avenue's Boarding Camp. Point Avenue's Leadership Boarding Camp is aimed to help our students take their first steps towards awareness, to help tie in the use of our 21st-century skills for a better future.

As the Camp Nurse, you will provide a high standard of service within guidelines to pupils, members of staff, and any visitors while on-site to ensure their health and wellbeing. You will have involvement and awareness of health and safety issues within the camp affecting the team, children.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Before students arrive:
  • Review all health forms and ask Course Consultants to contact parents who need to answer additional questions concerning specific health needs
  • Maintain medical records accurately, confidentially, and safely
  • Participate in a required pre-camp training session
  • Assist, where appropriate and practical, in training initiatives of a medical nature for the camp staff
  • Prepare/list all needed medicine or tools 2 weeks before the camp
• During the camp:
  • Disseminate pertinent information about a camper's health needs, with safety and confidentiality as the highest priorities
  • Work with Camp Coordinator / Camp Director and other staff as needed to create comprehensive approaches to health and behavioral concerns
  • Advise the Camp Director on any health issues with the campers
  • Provide first aid and emergency care and treatment as necessary
  • Contact local healthcare systems to find proper support in the case of an emergency
  • Take care of in-patient students, including providing health care service and serving food/water if needed
  • Remain prepared to step in for other staffers when they cannot fulfill their duties
  • Do other tasks assigned by the Camp Director
