Responsibilites
▪ P&L Responsibility, budget creation and control.
▪ Responsible for the rearing and grow out of fish for the wholesale or retail trade which
involves managing and maintaining fish habitats throughout the year, taking care of stock
health and welfare issues plus ensuring proper feeding to the fish either is done manually
or using automated feeder.
▪ Leadership and Management team to the entire in particular providing strategic direction
and tactical support.
▪ Establish a system to calculate the feeding regime.
▪ Ensure the proper monitoring of the health of the fish and treat them when appropriate.
▪ Plan breeding programmes and grow schedules to obtain maximum efficiency.
▪ Ensure the farm conditions adhere to environmental standards.
▪ Understand the local legislation and how to implement this into practical application.
▪ Able to introduce modern farming techniques in aquaculture farming, adapt to new
technologies as they develop, able to learn and apply the skills.
▪ Very detailed person, can introduce a system/procedures to avoid expensive fish losses.
▪ Possess stock skills such as fish handling, spawning, grading and harvesting.
▪ Developing talent for succession planning through all levels of the organisation.
▪ Building a continuous improvement culture, introducing best practice, new ideas and
opportunities, constantly update knowledge of fish health and nutrition.
▪ Ensuring adequate resources are in place to deliver to target and continue to grow.
▪ Ensure proper monitoring of stocks, stock records are in place for timely tracking.
▪ Ensuring a safe & secure work environment Zero Harm Culture.
▪ Contributing to the direction and success of the company as a whole, act as an integral
member of the company Leadership Team.
▪ Promoting synergies and co-operation across the company.
▪ Lead and direct key relationships with all relevant stakeholders such as regulators,
suppliers, strategic partners, etc.
▪ Champion excellent Customer Service through effective Project Management skills;
policies and practices aimed at exceeding customer expectation and driving
improvements.
▪ Oversee the co-ordination all market intelligence and industry trends, competitors and
emerging technologies and use this data to refine strategies.
▪ Ensure subordinates are adhered to policies, procedures and standards as established by
the Group management.
▪ Review subordinates's work performance, provide action-oriented feedback (Walk the
Talk) and mentoring to improve performance and correct deficiencies.
▪ Work with Nutritionist and Field Services team with regards to farm performance.
▪ Maintain an awareness of technology developments in aquaculture farming, collect
technical and other information about competitors's product to ensure that the company
maintains its competitive edge.
Qualifications
• Required: Degree in fisheries studies/management or related field
• Desirable: PhD. in Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures (Aquaculture Nutrition)
• At least 7 years total working experience in aquaculture farming, 4 years of relevant
experience holding farm management role.
• Background from the fish farming industry particularly offshore cage farming and with
practical skills on how to setup and operate a fish farm is a must.
• Proven track record of achieving success through others.
• Experience of successfully leading a business unit with P& L responsibility.
• Proven track record in all aspects of financial, commercial and operations management
focusing in operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Able to gain respect from and motivate farm management team across different
functions.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with people at all levels of the
business.
• Experience in strategy development and project management.
• Timely reporting, compliance and controls
• Respond quickly to constantly changing environment, i.e. market changes, weather
changes
• Driving several initiatives at the same time of various organizational levels, encouraging
and supporting his/her own team in going beyond the day-to-day requirement of the
job.
• Working hours are long at certain times of year, may involve regular weekend and
evening duties as well as emergency callouts.
• Required: English and Tagalog
• Desirable: Other Asian languages, Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia etc.
• Willing and able to travel between 30%-40% Highly motivated and driven personality,
leads from front, can work independently
