Preferred by Nature is a non-profit organisation that works for sustainable land use and climate-friendly solutions. With 270+ staff around the world, our services and projects help organisations with their sustainability efforts, build capacity, raise awareness, conserve nature and support social wellbeing.
We are currently seeking a new team member for our office in Estonia. The main task of this position is to manage, conduct and administrate Forest Stewardship CouncilTM (FSCTM) / PEFC Chain of Custody audits in Estonia according to the agreed plan.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and executing audits according to accredited certification schemes, such as FSC CoC, FSC CW, PEFC CoC and SBP.
- Conducting supplier factory audits
- Provide customer service to current and potential clients of Preferred by Nature.
- Support market development for Preferred by Nature in Estonia.
- Develop and maintain strong technical expertise in FSC/PEFC and Preferred by Nature policies, standards and protocols.
- Manage questions and disputes relating to active certification evaluations and clients consistent with Preferred by Nature and certification scheme policies.

- Participate in meetings
Professional requirements
- Minimum BSc or higher education in the field of forestry, biology, geography, environmental management or related field.
- At least 2 years' experience with a similar position
- Knowledge of Sustainable Biomass Program (SBP) and/or FSC certification systems is an advantage
- Good understanding of risk-based approaches to legality and sustainability assessments.
- Fluency in Estonian and English is a must.
- Knowledge of Russian languages is an advantage.

- The position reports to our Deputy Director of Traceability, based in Estonia.
- Working location: office in Tartu
- Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
- Expected starting date: as soon as possible
