I/ JOB PURPOSE: The Account Director is responsible for leading strategic client relationships, ensuring excellent execution of integrated communication solutions, driving business growth, and developing a high-performing account team. This role plays a critical part in managing agency revenue, enhancing client satisfaction, and shaping the long-term success of the company.
II/ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business development (20% workload)
- Drive quarterly and yearly revenue growth by retaining key accounts and proactively mining for new business opportunities (upsell/cross-sell) within the existing or new client portfolio.
- Contribute to creating and developing the company's business strategy and action plans for the new sector.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with external partners (media, KOLs, vendors, production houses) to enhance service capability and competitive pricing.
- Support the improvement of agency services, processes, and internal best practices to increase winning rates.
- Contribute to building the Company/Department data hub (client database, credentials, case studies).
Client Partnership (25% workload)
- Act as a senior strategic partner, advising clients on brand, communication, and business challenges.
- Lead strategic discussions, provide clear and insightful recommendations, and ensure alignment with client objectives.
- Conduct regular review meetings to assess results, extract learnings, and recommend next steps.
- Build strong, long-term client relationships with high satisfaction and retention.
Team Leadership & People Development (25% workload)
- Set clear KPIs and allocate sales targets to team members; monitor performance regularly to ensure the department achieves its revenue goals.
- Manage the Account team's resources, workflow, and cross-department collaboration efficiently.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members through structured guidance and competency-based growth plans to build the next generation of leaders.
- Foster a collaborative, positive, and high-performance team culture.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify talent development opportunities.
Strategy & Campaign Effectiveness (15% workload)
- Ensure all proposals, ideas, and plans are insight-driven and directly tied to client KPIs and business outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Planning & Creative team to refine strategies and validate feasibility and effectiveness.
- Oversee post-campaign analysis, extract insights, and propose optimization for future activities.
- Encourage data-driven thinking and the use of analytics, social listening, and performance dashboards across the team.
Innovation & Industry Awareness (5% workload)
- Stay up to date with industry trends, consumer shifts, platforms, formats, and emerging technologies.
- Recommend and test innovative approaches (AI-driven content, social commerce, creator-led formats...) that enhance campaign performance.
- Inspire the team to embrace continuous learning, creativity, and forward-thinking.
Account & Project Execution (10% workload)
- Develop overall project roadmap, strategic direction, and execution framework.
- Lead cross-functional coordination (Planning, Creative, Media, Production, Back Office) to ensure smooth execution with high-quality outputs.
- Manage project budget, quotations, cost control, and ensure healthy project P&L.
- Review and approve key concepts, messages, and deliverables before presenting to clients.
- Identify risks early and lead crisis communication when required.
III/ JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education & experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or related fields.
- 7 - 10 years in marketing/communications agency. Min. 2 years in a managerial role (Senior Account Manager/Associate Director/ Account Director).
- Proven experience leading integrated campaigns & cross-functional team.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong strategic thinking & client consulting skills.
- Solid understanding of IMC, brand strategy, digital & PR.
- Excellent communication, presentation & negotiation.
- Project & budget management; ability to handle high-pressure workloads.
