PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The position will examine and assess economic and market trends, earnings prospects, financial statements and various other indicators and factors to identify and execute suitable investments in renewable energy sector for Sembcorp Energy Vietnam.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct research and monitor trends in Vietnam renewable energy sector to generate ideas, recommendations, and write in-depth, high quality and timely research on market developments
2. Participate in
business development (e.g. exploration, identification, evaluation, and execution of new investment opportunities) efforts directly and in conjunction with the broader team; utilize experience and industry relationships to develop new opportunities in Vietnam renewable energy sector
3. Gather and synthesize industry/market/project data to develop and review financial models for greenfield development, brownfield acquisition, and financing of renewable energy projects
4. Conduct valuation analysis for renewable energy projects using various methodologies (discounted cash flow, comparables, precedent transactions, asset-based valuation, discounted dividend, amongst others)
5. Provide financial & commercial evaluation of investment opportunities
6. Prepare investment proposals for senior management, Exco and/or Board approvals
7. Maintain internal database of deal flow, potential investments and opportunities
Yêu cầu
1. Degree holder in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related disciplines
2. CFA level 2 or above preferred
3. 6 - 8 years of professional experience in Investments / Project Finance / Transaction Advisory related roles, preferably with prior deal experience in renewable energy / oil & gas sector
4. Strong understanding of M&A process, corporate finance and valuation techniques, financial statement analyses, investment risk assessment, and deal structuring
5. Demonstrated ability in successfully working with cross-functional teams including technical groups, accounting functions, and project development
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES & PREFERRED CHARACTERISTICS
1. Strong financial analysis, research, and financial modeling skills (comfortable with or willing to learn Excel macros/VBA for project finance)
2. Passion with renewable energy sector
3. Self-starter with positive attitude, commercial acumen, and a keen eye for details
4. Strong interpersonal, communication and time-management skills
5. Resulted-oriented team player with ability to work without close supervision
6. Proficient in both written and spoken English
7. Business travel is required
