Under the general guidance and supervision of the General Manager, and within the limits of established Hotel policies and procedures, Marketing & Public Relations Manager oversees plans, directs, controls, coordinates and participates in all Marketing & Public Relations activities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to marketing, advertising and public relations, are also require direct and routine interaction with other departments to promote and maintain good public relation in order to maintain the prestigious image of the hotel. At management discretion, direction may be given for task outside the scope of work described.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develops, review and control Marketing & Public Relation Plan, advertising budgets, KPIs, ensure that its objectives are achieved in order to promote and maintain the brand image of the hotel, adhering to the policies and procedures outlined in the Department Manual and division guidelines and instructions.
2. To understand the overall marketing strategy, brand guidelines and to communicate a consistent message regarding quality and service. Planning, directing, controlling, coordinating and participating in all Marketing & PR activities.
3. Recommends to General Manager the kind of advertising which will be most productive for the hotel by analyzing the market effectiveness of past advertising campaigns and consulting with other department heads and the advertising agency.
4. Creates and implements special programs/ promotional activities to achieve greater profitability through, (a) Sales (b) F&B (c) Enhancing the image of the hotel in the local community.
5. Develop and plan appropriate collateral and marketing support activities, etc, brochure, press ads to on line (e-mailings, banners, websites) materials. Task including but not limited to (1) Ensures hotel information is updated regularly on the internet/intranet. (2)Supervises the production and quality of all displays and temporary signage in hotel public areas. (3) Supervises and budgets for quality gift items as appropriate. Ensures correct usage of hotel logo on gift items as stipulated in corporate ID manual. (4) Supervises the in-house
graphic designer and/or print shop.
6. To be responsible for developing (with inputs from Director of Sales & Marketing and General Manager) and implementing public relation strategies, both internally and externally
7. To maintain & recommend improvements for the press kits, including photography, updated press releases.
8. To manage public relation efforts focusing on heightened visibility and consumer efforts
9. To facilitate requests & Itineraries and to conduct guided media tours
10. To implement monthly strategies including but not limited to designing key messages, outlining PR targets & promotional campaigns to meet objective
11. To maintain relationship with media & press, coordinate with journalist/reporter in doing press coverage, send Press Release, media entertaining, press meeting. Develops media contacts, plans press conferences and other press activities. Acts as hotel's liaison with media to promote good publicity and counteract bad publicity.
12. Setting the direction, leverages, manages and executes social media and digital communication strategies that aligned with the Hotel's positioning and business objectives. Task including but not limited (1) To control all aspects of Hotel's online presence including facebook, twitter, google+, youtube (2) To manage online review sites/responses (3)* To maintain Hotel's website (4) Identify and develop integrated PR and Social Media programs which capitalize on unique and newsworthy stories as well as leveraging unexpected opportunities as they arise. (5) To stay up-to-date on
digital marketing trends
13. To manage all aspects of relationships with printers and suppliers, including negotiation for the best price, specifications and turnaround times, administration and budgeting
14. To maintain brand standards with regard to ad layout, images in the eyes of publics, at all times
15. To work with HR in planning charity & environmental activities.
16. To prepare internal marketing correspondence and act as liaison to all deps inc but not limited to ad alerts, reservations updates,...
17. To conducts such function as interviewing, hiring, employee orientation, performance appraisal coaching, counseling and dismissal if necessary to make sure the appropriate staff and productivity. (Consults with General Manager, Department Head and Personnel Manager as appropriate in performing above duties)
18. To conducts weekly review, including activity reports to ensure objective are being met.
19. To attend all mandatory meeting as directed
20. Performs related duties ad special projects as assigned/directed
Education: Bachelor or Master Degree in Mass Communications/ Marketing/ PR or related field.
Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a same class hotel.
Computer literate: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator is an advantage.
