PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Responsible for identifying and capturing new growth opportunities, developing categories, and managing the brand portfolio to drive revenue, optimize profit margins, standardize operations, and ensure brand consistency across the entire business network.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Business Development (Growth Development)
Identify, screen, and evaluate new growth opportunities for the Group through international partnerships, including:
New international brand acquisition and licensing.
New product categories.
Innovative business models (formats, services, channels).
Develop comprehensive Business Cases and P&L projections for each growth project (Revenue - Costs - Profit - CAPEX - OPEX).
Design business models: encompassing customer positioning, value propositions, pricing structures, margins, operational frameworks, and resource requirements.
Establish business processes and Operating Models to ensure feasibility prior to implementation.
Lead the execution of growth projects through to the Go-live stage.
2. Category Management (Assortment - Pricing - Lifecycle - Supply)
Develop category strategies tailored by segment, region, sales channel, and growth objectives.
Manage assortments: identifying strategic, boosting, maintaining, and phase-out SKUs.
Formulate pricing strategies based on market segments and product lifecycles.
Manage inventory and slow-moving stock; propose plans for capital optimization and stock rotation.
Collaborate cross-functionally (Retail - Marketing - Supply Chain - Manufacturing) to ensure effective portfolio implementation.
3. Brand Portfolio Management (Role - Performance - Compliance - Innovation)
Govern the brand portfolio, including in-house and international brands (Positioning - Role - Performance).
Evaluate brand performance: revenue, profit margins, customer base, and competitive advantage.
Propose brand expansion, restructuring, or termination for underperforming brands.
Ensure strict compliance with brand guidelines, concepts, visual merchandising, and price positioning.
Manage relationships with international suppliers/brands: including training, guidelines, audits, and product standards.
Coordinate with Product/Design teams to ensure the product roadmap aligns with brand positioning.
4. Market Insight & Intelligence
Analyze market insights: consumer behavior, regional demand, and seasonal trends.
Conduct competitor benchmarking: pricing, products, designs, portfolios, and development strategies.
Synthesize and report periodic insights to Marketing - Product - Category - Brand departments.
Propose new SKUs, product groups, segments, or brands based on data-driven insights.
Provide strategic inputs for 360-degree marketing campaigns, retail concepts, and product innovation.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related fields.
Language: Fluency in English (verbal and written); ability to use English proficiently for professional work.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in Brand Development/ Category Management/ Product Development.
Proven track record in developing new business models. Prior experience in FMCG, Retail, or Fashion is preferred.
Core Competencies:
New Business Model Design: Proven ability to design business models and commercialization strategies, from conceptualizing formats/services/channels to defining the Go-live roadmap, ensuring operational feasibility and profitability.
Strategic P&L management: Proficiency in strategic financial management, including building complex Business Cases, managing P&L, and optimizing CAPEX/OPEX to ensure investment efficiency (ROI).
High-level Negotiation & Stakeholder Leadership: Exceptional skills in negotiating with global partners/suppliers and leading cross-functional teams (Retail, Marketing, Supply Chain) to execute growth initiatives.
Market Intelligence: Ability to translate benchmark reports and consumer insights into actionable product innovations or brand acquisitions.
Effective problem-solving, leadership, and presentation skills.
Others: Willingness to travel frequently (domestic and international) and flexibility to work overtime as required by projects/programs.
