Position Overview:
The Clean Energy Investment Accelerator (CEIA) is a public-private partnership initiative engaging in a multi-year effort in Vietnam to improve clean energy procurement opportunities for large energy users, primarily commercial and industrial businesses. To facilitate clean energy market improvement and investment growth, CEIA is working with a wide range of stakeholders including corporate energy users, private investors adn project developers, government entities such as ERAV and MOIT, as well as international partners such as the USAID Vietnam Low Emission Energy Program (V-LEEP), USAID Clean Power Asia, and the Global Green Growth Institute.
The CEIA team is jointly led by the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the World Resources Institute (WRI), and Allotrope Partners.
We are seeking to add a project manager based in Vietnam to support CEIA Vietnam in a range of activities including stakeholder communication, market research and data collection, representing CEIA at industry events, managing private sector relationships, event planning and execution, and more.
We are targeting candidates that are willing to live and work in Ho Chi Minh City, but we will also consider candidates based in Hanoi.
This is a full-time position under a one-year contract with the option to extend annually.
Job Activities and Responsibilities:
A. Market Engagement and Stakeholder Relationship Management
a. Support the planning, organization, facilitation, and execution of Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance (REBA) Vietnam Working Group meetings, hosted by CEIA, that bring together up to 80 market stakeholders. Support for these events may include:
- conducting outreach to key stakeholders via phone and email,
- managing invitation and RSVP lists,
- coordinating partner inputs on event materials,
- leading event logistics preparation, and
- providing translation support for event documents and outreach materials.
b. Represent CEIA at industry events as well as one-on-one meetings with key market stakeholders including corporate buyers, clean energy developers, investors, and banks.
c. Responsibility for conveying CEIA's messages and agenda to relevant audiences, and gathering pertinent information about market stakeholders and their progress.
B. Renewable Energy Pilot Project Identification, Development, and Execution
a. Play a proactive role in helping the CEIA team identify pilot project opportunities with corporate clean energy buyers, support site evaluation and project pre-feasibility studies, and liaise with corporate partners.
b. Communicate with prospective partners and visit commercial and industrial (C&I) sites to collect and organize operational data, i.e. electricity consumption, load profile data, roof and building drawings, electrical diagrams, etc.
c. Identify and evaluate financing options and renewable energy procurement models available and applicable to corporate buyers.
d. Contribute to feasibility studies and investment analyses of renewable energy projects for C&I applications.
e. Contribute to the development of procurement bidding documents and materials.
C. Policy Research, Analysis, and Engagement
a. Support CEIA's clear and consistent communication with government agencies and other stakeholders on policy and regulatory information related to renewable energy project development and operation.
b. Track policy and regulatory and changes and development on a regular basis through a Policy Tracker, to ensure awareness among CEIA's broader team.

Required Qualifications:
● Vietnamese nationality
● Fluency in English and excellent English-language speaking and writing capabilities
● At least 3-8 years of experience in an energy-related field; or research, business, finance or project development
● Bachelor's degree in relevant field
● Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proven ability to multitask
● Prior experience working with a diverse, international team, with a preference for candidates with experience working in international markets
● Proven ability to work independently and be a "self starter"
● Ability to provide thorough and regular written and verbal communications with internationally-based CEIA team members
Preferred Qualifications:
● Good understanding of renewable energy (primarily solar PV) and mechanisms relevant to commercial and industrial energy users
● Knowledge of regulatory processes related to Vietnam's power sector, and specifically, renewable energy development
● Existing network of relationships and contacts relevant to Vietnam's energy industry, as well as commercial and industrial businesses
● Knowledge of Vietnam's power market structure and stakeholders
