Job Summary
The Control Tower Transformation and P&L Lead is a dynamic, hands-on role designed to be the right-hand partner to the Head of Control Tower. This position is responsible for execution-level process transformation, driving the automation backlog, and ensuring tight daily Operational P&L Governance across the AHEAD Process and Bestshoring tracks.
The ideal candidate does not need to be a finished Manager, but must possess a strong "Transformation & Financial Mindset"- someone who naturally hates manual work, loves data, and is hyper-alert to margin risks. You will govern operations through automated numbers rather than manual files ("Review numbers, not files"), while remaining agile enough to multi-task and adapt to rapid supply chain changes.
• Report to: Head of Control Tower (Jolie)
• Direct Reports: Bestshoring Supervisor (Indirectly managing 9 staffs)
• Key Collaboration: E2E Process TL,
Data Analyst, Commercial, Procurement
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process Optimization & Automation Execution
• Process Mapping & Auditing: Deeply analyze current workflows to map all manual inputs, identify bottlenecks, and eliminate administrative waste.
• Automation Backlog Execution: Build, prioritize, and drive the daily execution of the team's automation backlog (utilizing tools like Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Power Automate, or macros) to reclaim team capacity (FTE saved).
• Control Points Implementation: Set up practical, automated validation gates within the system to catch data errors early without requiring manual cross-checking.
2. Operational P&L & Margin Risk Control
• P&L File Ownership: Maintain, update, and own the P&L monitoring system/files setup by the management.
• Cross-functional Sync: Partner closely with Commercial and Procurement teams to ensure buying costs and selling prices are updated accurately and instantly in the system.
• Margin Risk Identification: Monitor daily/weekly financial data to proactively spot leakages, cost creeping, or price discrepancies before they hit the bottom line.
• Actionable Mitigation: Immediately flag financial risks to the Head of CT, accompanied by concrete, data-backed mitigation options and alternative operational setups.
• Data-Driven Review: Manage team outputs and financial health via automated dashboards, strictly moving away from micromanaged Excel files.
3. Bestshoring Supervision & Multi-tasking
• Supervisor Coaching: Guide the Bestshoring Supervisor to uplift the 9-person sub-team from traditional data entry into an efficient, automated processing unit.
• Multi-tasking: Successfully balance time and wear multiple hats-acting as the transformation driver for the AHEAD track while concurrently governing the financial and operational targets of the Bestshoring track.
1. Experience & Education
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Analytics, Finance, or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in 3PL Supply Chain, Forwarding, or Control Tower environments.
• Project Leadership: A proven track record of handling process improvement projects or financial data tracking. While a formal "Manager" title is not mandatory, you must demonstrate experience in leading projects, mentoring junior staff, or taking full ownership of a workflow.
2. Core Mindset & Traits (Non-Negotiable)
• Proactive Mindset: A self-starter who doesn't wait for instructions. You look at an operational issue and immediately connect it to its financial impact.
• The "Anti-Manual" Attitude: A strong internal drive to automate. You naturally reject repetitive manual tasks and always look for systemic fixes.
• High Adaptability: Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced changes in supply chain requirements; ability to wear multiple hats simultaneously.
3. Technical & Trainable Skills (Critical Assets)
• Financial Literacy: Sharp understanding of logistics cost structures (Freight, Surcharges, Buying vs. Selling) and how operational delays erode gross margins.
• Data & Automation Tools: * Must-have: Proficiency in Power Query and Advanced Excel (Pivot, complex formulas).
• Strong Plus: Experience with (or a fast-learning curve for) Power BI/Tableau, RPA (Robotic Process Automation), Power Automate, or Excel Macros (VBA).
• Process Methodologies: Practical understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean principles, or Workflow Mapping (Visio/Lucidchart).
• Language: Good English communication skills (written and verbal) to align with global stakeholders and senior leadership (Germany).
