DATA ENGINEER _ ENG GOOD _ DU33
Position Overview
Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources into cloud data platforms.
Build and optimize data models following Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers) or equivalent layered data design.
Develop and maintain data pipelines using tools such as Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or Microsoft Fabric.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability through validation, testing, and monitoring frameworks.
Collaborate with
Data Analysts,
Data Scientists, and Backend Engineers to define data requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose datasets.
Optimize query performance and storage costs across data warehouse and lakehouse environments.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data workflows, including version control and automated deployment.
Apply data governance, security, and access control best practices in line with project and compliance requirements.
Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime and business impact.
Document data architecture, pipeline logic, and technical processes for team knowledge sharing.
Participate in technical discussions and provide input on data architecture decisions for ongoing and upcoming projects.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS or Azure), including their data services.
Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (Python preferred).
Practical experience with Databricks or Microsoft Fabric, and familiarity with Medallion architecture design.Exper
ience building and orchestrating ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Airflow, or equivalent.
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and performance optimization.
Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices applied to data engineering workflows.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to data accuracy and pipeline reliability.
Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken, to work directly with international clients.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with big data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark.
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform for provisioning data platform resources.Experi
ence with real-time or streaming data pipelines (Kafka, Event Hubs, or similar).
Exposure to data governance and cataloging tools (Unity Catalog, Purview, or equivalent).
Relevant cloud or data certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Data Analytics).
Prior experience working in an outsourcing or client-facing project delivery model.
