We are looking for enthusiastic, creative Camp Counselors who love children to join us in creating groundbreaking programs.
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Learning Experience Facilitator serves as the Lead MC and Head Counselor for Beyond Academic experiential programs. You are the "energy engine" responsible for on-site delivery and student engagement. During office hours, you focus on transforming high-level camp master plans into detailed execution scripts, preparing activity materials, and synthesizing post-camp observation data into professional student reports. You ensure that activities are delivered engagingly, seasonal staff execute at a high standard, and the Total Wellbeing Index (TWI) outcomes are accurately documented.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. On-site Facilitation & Counselor Leadership (40%)
Lead Facilitator (MC): Serve as the primary MC of the camp on stage. You control the microphone, lead large group activities, and run the flow of the program.
Energy Management: Read the room and adjust the rhythm. If students are tired or distracted, you possess the flexibility to modify the activity flow on the spot without breaking the core educational structure.
Counselor Captain: Serve as the direct functional supervisor for seasonal Counselors during camp. Ensure they are actively interacting with students, maintaining high energy, and following basic safety protocols. Correct low-energy or unsafe behavioral practices on the spot.
Performance Monitor: Assist the Manager in monitoring counselor performance against the designed rubric. Report to Manager about the performance of Counselors post camp.
2. Detailed Scripting & Material Prep (30%)
Activity Detailing: Participate in creative brainstorming sessions to contribute ideas and transform the overall camp concepts, plans, and framework provided by the Manager into actionable, detailed execution materials (e.g., MC scripts, step-by-step game rules, and specific activity run-sheets).
Material Design: Independently design and prepare basic educational materials, such as mission cards, and reflection worksheets required for the camp stations.
Activity Piloting: Test run new games and activities in the office to ensure they are engaging, safe, and feasible before deploying them at camp.
3. Evaluation & Reporting (20%)
Data Synthesis: Collect, review, and filter all qualitative notes and observation logs submitted by seasonal Counselors and Campers after each camp.
Student Growth Reports: Take ownership of writing and finalizing personalized post-camp reports for each student under supervision of the Manager. Ensure the content accurately reflects their progress against the Total Wellbeing Index (TWI) and is written in a highly professional tone for the Customer Service team to send to parents.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student information. Compile feedback surveys from students, parents and seasonal staff, and create "After Action Reports" on activities (what went well, what needs improvement, what to change).
4. Innovation & Culture (10%)
Game Library Management: Constantly research, categorize, and digitize new games, team-building mechanics, and debriefing questions into the department's "Activity Library" mapped to the 4Gs and Total Wellbeing.
Training Assistance: Support the Manager during seasonal staff training sessions by preparing training materials and conducting demonstrations of games, dances, and facilitation techniques.
Cross-Department Synergy: Collaborate with the Academic/ Marketing/ Center team during integrated events to ensure the educational message is consistent.
OTHER JOB DUTIES:
Provide supervision for campers while campers are transported to and from camp or during scheduled field trips.
Identify other tasks or duties that this position may be expected to perform but are not necessarily the primary focus of this position.
Actively participate in debriefs and strategy sessions. Over time, take ownership of smaller camp projects/events from concept to execution to build competencies.
RELATIONSHIPS:
With Beyond Academic Executive (Operations & Logistics Coordinator): You are Peers. You focus on the Content & People (what to say, how to play), and they focus on the Logistics & Resources (where to go, what equipment to use).
With Seasonal Counselors: You are their On-site Team Leader. You manage their energy, guide their facilitation, and collect their observation data.
With Beyond Academic Manager: You report on Educational Quality, Seasonal Staff Execution, and Student TWI Reports. You receive high-level concepts from the Manager to detail out.
EQUIPMENT USED:
May include but not limited to: Professional audio/visual equipment (microphones, speakers), laptops for scripting and reporting, basic design software (Canva/Microsoft Office), classroom supplies, sports equipment, art materials, and camp-specific tools managed under the inventory protocol.
Full-Time Salary: Competitive package based on experience and competencies.
Insurance: Social, Health, and Unemployment Insurance according to Vietnamese Labor Law.
Allowances: Meals, accommodation, and travel allowances provided during camp execution.
Training: Direct mentorship from the Manager; opportunity to participate in professional development regarding Experiential Learning and Total Wellbeing.
