1. Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure health & safety is always suitably prioritized and that teams operate in a safely manner. This is done by ensuring that all work is risk assessed, only ever carried out on appropriately isolated equipment, carried out in a safe manner and that all equipment is returned in a safe condition when the task is complete.
- Own and manage safe operating procedures SOPs & risk assessments RA for all production and engineering tasks.
- Ensure compliance with ALL relevant legislation & Statutory Inspections especially PCCC, Environmental Permitting and Department of Livestock Production compliance.
- Manage Site Contractors in a safe, controlled & compliant manner.
- Ensure all compliance records are up to date and easily auditable.
2. Quality & Feed Safety
- Work with Warehouse Management System and Manufacturing Execution System/ SCADA and resolve faults where they occur.
- Ensure Preventative Maintenance compliance with HACCP and company standards.
- Support adherence to ISO/FAMI-QS & DLP actions and requirements.
- Support the Production Manager &
QA Manager in developing and maintaining quality protocols for the site.
3. Planned Maintenance (PM)
- Ensure that critical compliance checks for, PCCC, environmental permit, safety, dust control and completed on time and in full.
- Create and manage the PM regime for all Plant & equipment in line with the OEM Daxner, P.T.C. and others.
- Plan and execute all activities in conjunction with other business functions.
- Ensure all PM is completed on time, in full (>95% conformance)
- Ensure critical spares evaluated held, logged and stored so that the site is protected from critical failures.
- Continuously improve plant & equipment reliability (RCAs, PMs, Re-Engineering)
- Manage Condition Based Monitoring programme (i.e. thermography) to drive cost-effective maintenance.
- Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS) to ensure maintenance records are kept to Audit Standards
- Manage the Plant SCADA system (ESA) and change-control process efficiency.
- Contribute to the monitoring of site energy performance and take action on ALL deviations to drive energy efficiency improvements and activities.
4. Unplanned and corrective maintenance
- The EM should have a strong mix of managerial capability and technical skills to resolve complex electrical and mechanical faults. As such experience as a hands-on multi-skilled Electrical- Mechanical engineer is essential.
- Work with teams to resolve Plant breakdowns in a timely and effective manner ensuring Production Availability (within the confines of Health, Safety, Environment & Feed Safety). This may include work outside of normal hours to effectively resolve faults.
5. Operational Performance
- Support the Production team in driving operational efficiency improvements.
- Engage with operational teams and support Lean implementation activities.
- Be active in analyzing and improving of overall site performance (Volume and Cost).
6. Capital Expenditure
- Contribution towards the 5-year Capital Plan with Central team; Support execution of major site works and technical expertise & tendering.
- Manage all minor capex activities (on-time, on-cost, on-quality) from start to finish and ensure delivery of the justified benefits.
- Multi-skilled engineer; Mechanical/
Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
