Facility Supervisor (Civil Background)

Reports to: Head of Technical
PURPOSE
- Under guidance of the Head of technical, this position is responsible for assisting with the overall operation of facility services.
- Supervises the execution of facility works and ensure the works conform to the relevant specifications and standards
- Responsible for designated general maintenance activities at the terminal.
- Ad hoc tasks as directed by the Head of technical or Senior Management
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensures that the facilities are maintained and repaired in a cost-effective manner with due consideration to quality standards.
- Assists to oversee the maintenance and repair of the terminal buildings, handling electricity, plumbing, painting, air conditioning.
- Assists to oversee the group that does structure changes for terminal buildings, including carpentry, painting, and masonry work.
- Recommends and assists in design layouts, budget costings and contract administration for facility projects as directed by the Head of technical.
- Advises the Store Supervisor on all facility related materials
- Supervises landscaping and gardening crew who maintain the grounds and surroundings.
- Conducts regular inspections and/or reviews reports from inspections of buildings, parking lots and other structures.
- Supervises any sub-contractors that are working on specific projects, related to repair and construction.
- Provides Purchasing with sufficient lead time to obtain needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Ensures appropriate records for maintenance are maintained, including job cards and equipment history cards.
- Oversees the day to day contract operation for landscaping, facility cleaning and other services, and ensures that the contracts are carried out effectively.
- In conjunction with HSSE, drafts safety rules and regulations for the terminal & ensures safety items such as fire extinguishers, smoke alarms and fire alarms are available and operational.
- Ensures third party contractors are completing works in accordance with design specifications and standards, to cost and program and when required reporting any deviation from design to ensure contractor completion to contract specifications.
- Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
- Prepares sketches showing location or wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
- Provides complete and accurate reports, as required.
- Assists in the improvement of existing methodologies, processes and measurements when executing duties on an ongoing basis.
