​ABOUT THE ROLE
Leads the export-import function of a garment manufacturing and export company, making sure
shipments leave and materials arrive on time, with complete documents and full compliance with
customs and trade regulations. Builds and leads the EXIM team, works closely with forwarders,
factories, merchandising and customers, and on-time troubleshooting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY
1. Export-Import Operations
●​ Manage export and import operations and make sure orders are cleared through customs on
time.
●​ Plan shipments with factories and merchandising, and follow each shipment until delivery.
●​ Keep shipping costs under control (freight, storage, demurrage) and report abnormal costs.
2. Documentation
●​ Prepare and check export and import documents: customs declarations, commercial invoices,
packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin (including FTA forms) and related documents.
●​ Make sure documents are accurate, consistent and submitted on time.
3. Forwarders & Coordination
●​ Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs agents for smooth logistics.
●​ Support and advise customers and internal teams on shipping solutions, and resolve arising
problems without affecting the business or compliance policy.
4. Customs Settlement & Compliance
●​ Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations on import and export.
●​ Manage the liquidation/settlement reports for imported materials and exported products, and
work with customs officers on all related issues.
●​ Prepare for customs audits and keep records complete and traceable.
5. Team Leadership
●​ Set clear goals and priorities, assign work, and review the results of team members.
●​ Train and coach the team, give regular feedback, and develop a back-up for key tasks.
●​ Build short & concise procedures and checklists to reduce errors and delays.
6. Reporting & Improvement
●​ Report regularly to the Director on shipments, clearance status, costs and compliance risks.
●​ Propose and lead improvements to EXIM processes and cost.
●​ Other duties as assigned by the COO.
