Key Responsibilities
- Create, evaluate, approve IMDS entries for automotive components in IMDS system.
- Ensure compliance with all market-specific (Asian, ME, EU, CA, US, etc..) requirements and regulatory compliance requirements such as ELV, REACH, SVHC/SCIP, PFAS, POPs, California props65 and RoHS, WEEE, EU Battery Regulation, etc.
- Knowledge on the various automotive components, materials & product structure for EE components
- Coordinate with Engineering,
purchasing, SQE, suppliers, and other Manufacturing shop engineers to collect required material/ MDS data.
- Validate material declarations and resolve IMDS rejections from suppliers.
- Monitor changes in environmental regulations and assess their impact on products.
- Support product development teams with material compliance & market requirements during project gates.
- Train and guide suppliers and internal stakeholders on IMDS requirements for first-time right quality data and resolve rejection reasons
- Organize meeting with suppliers & internal stakeholders for IMDS status & rejection related issues
- Maintain databases and internal standards related to IMDS for various projects and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare for internal weekly reports with IMDS completion status for management reviews.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical Engineering, materials Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
- Experience in IMDS management or product compliance within the automotive industry
- Hands-on experience with the IMDS system
- Knowledge of ELV, REACH, RoHS, PFAS, POPs, GADSL, and other environmental regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management tools
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
