We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Leader to manage our team of Software Engineers, specializing in Java. In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of talented engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of innovative, high-quality solutions that exceed client expectations. Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of Software Engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and development.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing.
Project Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of assigned projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and successful completion.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine project requirements and specifications, offering technical insights and recommendations.
- Design, develop, and rigorously test robust, scalable, and cutting-edge web applications to deliver superior user experiences.
- Leverage native APIs and frameworks for seamless integrations, ensuring optimal system performance and user satisfaction.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs, ensuring applications run efficiently at scale.
- Maintain high standards of code integrity through rigorous testing, documentation, and adherence to best practices.
- Proactively monitor systems, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime and optimize system reliability.
- Global Collaboration: Work closely with teams based in the United Kingdom and the United States, ensuring seamless coordination and project success.
- Problem Solving: Analyze complex technical challenges and devise creative solutions, driving innovation within the team and organization.
Your Skills and Experience
Skills and Experience:
Core Skills:
- Extensive experience with core Java concepts including object-oriented programming, multithreading, generics, and collections.
- Proficiency with Spring, Spring Data, Dependency Injection (DI), and transaction management.
- Strong skills in building RESTful APIs, working with microservices architecture, and expertise in server technologies like Tomcat and Jetty.
- Demonstrated ability to design scalable, well-documented APIs for internal and external clients, including API authentication, authorization, and versioning.
- Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Proficiency with debugging tools and techniques to maintain high-performance systems.
- Expertise in SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL solutions (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB), including database design, optimization, and data modeling.
- Proven ability to optimize backend systems for performance and scalability.
DevOps and Cloud:
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools automate build and deployment pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EKS, S3, RDS, and Lambda for scalable cloud-based solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes (K8s), including container orchestration, scaling, and deployment of microservices in a distributed system.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like DataDog to track performance, logs, and metrics in Kubernetes environments.
Version Control and Agile Practices:
- Proficiency in GitHub for version control and team collaboration.
- Experience working in Agile environments, participating in sprints, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Bonus Skills:
- Familiarity with JavaScript and TypeScript, including ES6+ syntax, is highly advantageous.
