Job Purpose Ensure that production assets, utilities, and supporting infrastructure are safe, compliant, reliable, and cost-effective throughout their life cycle, enabling stable delivery of quality while continuously reducing operational risk and total cost of ownership.

Reduce life-cycle cost through failure elimination, energy efficiency, optimized spare parts, and disciplined investment decisions.
Lead a competent, accountable, and multi-skilled maintenance organization with robust succession and effective contractor management.
Maintain complete, accurate, and traceable maintenance records supporting decisions, audits, and continual improvement.
Key Accountabilities
Maintenance Strategy & Governance: Translate business and EHS objectives into a 3-5 year reliability roadmap, annual operating plan, and monthly priorities. Establish approved maintenance policies, workflows, service levels, and escalation rules.
Asset Management & Life-Cycle: Own asset master data accuracy. Lead asset criticality assessments (safety, quality, cost, redundancy) and develop renewal, refurbishment, and end-of-life plans (including TCO and repair-versus-replace analysis).
Work Management, Planning & Scheduling: Implement a disciplined work-order process from request through closure. Maintain a risk-ranked backlog and lead weekly/daily scheduling with Production to protect maintenance windows.
Preventive, Predictive & Condition-Based Maintenance: Develop and optimize PM/PdM plans using condition-monitoring methods (vibration, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound, alignment).
Breakdown Response & Failure Elimination: Lead structured responses to critical failures (safe isolation, incident command, temporary controls). Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for high-risk or repeated failures to eliminate recurrence.
Reliability Engineering: Analyze downtime, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance costs. Apply methods like FMEA and Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM). Partner with Production on Autonomous Maintenance (AM).
Utilities, Infrastructure & Energy: Ensure utility capacity and contingency plans (electricity, fuel, compressed air, water) are maintained and implement energy efficiency projects.
Spare Parts & Procurement: Establish equipment BOMs and risk-based min/max levels for critical/consumable spares. Prevent unauthorized substitutions, counterfeit parts, and control specialized tools/lifting gear.
Quality & EHS Compliance: Maintain full compliance with company QMS (ISO 9001) and work order traceability. Demonstrate visible safety leadership (LOTO, work permits, machine guarding, work at height, PPE) and stop unsafe work immediately.
Team Leadership & Budget: Structure shift/on-call coverage, coach team performance, maintain a technical competency matrix, and build succession plans. Manage annual operating and capital budgets.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Experience: Minimum 7-10 years of progressive industrial maintenance/engineering experience in heavy manufacturing (foundry, steel, metal processing preferred), with at least 4-6 years managing a multi-disciplinary maintenance team.
Industry Background: Direct experience with casting, steel, or long pipe manufacturing is highly preferred.
Technical & Data Skills: Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, PLC, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine safety. Proficient in CMMS and enterprise systems with the ability to build dashboards and analyze maintenance data.
Standards: Practical knowledge of ISO 9001 and document control.
Languages: Working English proficiency for technical documents, supplier communication, audits, and management reporting. Mandarin/Chinese language skills are a plus.
Preferred Credentials: Recognised certifications in Maintenance/Reliability (e.g., CMRP), 5S, Lean/Six Sigma, Project Management, or Energy Management.
