1. Network Design & Implementation
• Design and configure LAN/WAN networks for solar plants, substations, and monitoring centers.
• Implement IP addressing schemes, VLANs, routing, and switching for operational technologies (OT) and IT networks.
• Set up communication for SCADA/EMS systems, inverters, meters, data loggers, and field sensors.
• Deploy industrial communication protocols (Modbus TCP/RTU, IEC 104/61850, DNP3).
• Integrate networking for remote sites using LTE/4G/5G, microwave links, and VPN tunnels.
2. Monitoring & Maintenance
• Monitor network performance and reliability for solar plant operations.
• Troubleshoot issues related to connectivity between inverters, weather stations, string monitoring units (SMUs), and control rooms.
• Maintain and update network diagrams, documentation, and configurations.
3. Network Security
• Implement firewalls, access control lists (ACL), and secure remote access (VPN, SSH).
• Monitor and mitigate threats in OT/SCADA networks.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards for energy infrastructure (NERC CIP or ISO 27001 preferred).
4. Collaboration & Support
• Work closely with solar engineering teams, SCADA engineers,
electrical engineers, and EPC/contractors.
• Support commissioning of new solar sites by validating network configurations and communication links.
• Train technicians on basic network diagnostics.
5. Cloud & Monitoring Platforms (Optional)
• Configure data uploads to cloud-based monitoring systems (AWS, Azure, Solar-Log, Power BI, etc.).
• Manage API integrations for energy dashboards and reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 1+ years managing network systems for solar plants.
• Experienced with SCADA communication (Modbus, IEC 104, IEC 61850).
• Skilled in routers, switches, firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet, Mikrotik).
• Designed secure remote connectivity via VPN and 4G/5G.
• Monitored OT networks and resolved inverter/SCADA communication issues.
• Implemented cybersecurity policies for solar operational networks.
• Experience using AutoCAD software is an advantage.
