• Work with the products
designers, pre production sample team and QA and be responsible for the technical development of new styles and application of all quality standards relating to fit and construction
• Creating and or perfecting basic patterns and maintain high standards for garment fit and comfort
• Creating measurement chart base on pictures, or original sample, or sketch.
• Provides pattern design and marker review support on price point and key styles to optimize fabric usage based on request and projects to maximize profit margins
• Calculate dimensions of patterns according to sizes and considering fabric type for approved samples using CAD software
• Create parameters and grading rules according to our measurement chart
• Draw details on outlined parts to indicate where parts are to be joined, as well as the positions of pleats, pockets, buttonholes and other features
• Mark samples and finished patterns with information such as garment size, section, style, identification, and sewing instructions
• Calculate marker consumptions
• Fluid communication with the rest of departments, proactively offer assistance in the production process, suggest the solution on technical or design issues and solve the problems so as not to affect the production progress.
• Manage strictly the pattern library on company's shared software
• Coordinate with the printing workshop to ensure pattern printing stays on schedule with the sampling room
• Submit daily reports per management's requests and handle other arising duties as assigned by the company
• Bachelor degree in industrial engineering, textile manufacturing or a related field with 5 to 10 years of working experience in garment production and processing
• Expertise in grading patterns and creating consistent fit trough the use of basic patterns
• Extensive knowledge about body measurements and fitting garments to different forms
• Ability to read technical documents including tech packs and spec sheets, calculation skills and experience in the field of outerwear a plus
• In depth knowledge about marker making and marker optimization software Gerber system knowledge and hands on experience
• Strong experience about material and textile, including fiber, yarns, knit and woven, understanding of garment construction
• Strong knowledge about material manufacturing or dyeing and finishing, product value engineering knowledge, apparel marker efficiency, garment construction and production cutting process, garment sewing
• Rich and strong knowledge of complete apparel product development process
• Appreciation of details, shapes, proportions and sizes
• Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to details
• Outstanding execution ability with proven determination and perseverance in reaching goals. A never give up attitude.
