PDK_CI_1_Staff CAD Infrastructure Lead

Mission
Define, build, and operate the core CAD and Release Infrastructure enabling stable, automated, traceable, and scalable PDK development across multiple EDA ecosystems (Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens). You will deliver production-grade CI/CD pipelines, reproducible containerized environments, and high-availability compute resources - ensuring reliable, first-time-right PDK delivery to internal engineering teams and external Tier-1 customers.
Key Responsibilities
• Infrastructure and Compute Architecture
o Define the global architecture for PDK build, validation, and release; scale hybrid (On-premise/Cloud) compute resources to handle massive peak workloads.
o Implement license-aware job scheduling and pre-emption policies to balance high-throughput PDK regressions with real-time engineering needs (Characterization, Modeling, and Reliability simulations).
• PDK Build and CI/CD Governance
o Establish deterministic/reproducible build environments using containerization (Docker/Singularity) to ensure "Build Provenance" and long-term maintenance (LTS) for legacy nodes.
o Architect automated "Quality Gates" within the CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins/GitLab) to block sub-standard code from reaching the release branch.
• EDA Environment and Storage Strategy
o Coordinate version pinning and multi-tool environment validation; manage complex tool dependencies across Siemens, Cadence, and Synopsys suites.
o Define tiered storage and data retention policies to manage the massive disk I/O and footprint generated by CMOS full-chip physical verification.
• Automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
o Drive the IaC roadmap using Terraform/Ansible to manage license servers, compute nodes, and virtualized EDA workspaces.
o Develop custom EDA-specific monitors for job health, memory consumption, and disk-quota management to prevent infrastructure-related tape-out delays.
• Secure Distribution and Traceability
o Build secure, audited PDK distribution mechanisms (encrypted portals, checksum validation) compliant with strict NDA and ISO 26262 security requirements.
o Maintain the central Artifact Repository (Artifactory/Nexus) for all versioned PDK releases, patches, and document increments.
