Job Responsibility:
The Process Specialist (PS) is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing pilot-scale trials to support product development, process validation, and innovation projects.
This role ensures that trials are conducted efficiently, safely, and according to defined objectives, generating accurate data to guide formulation, processing, and scale-up decisions.
Duties will include and not be limited to:
· Participate in the planning and execution of trials and technical changes to process, equipment or products and prepare recommendations or further improvement based on the results.
· Prepares and updates Technology Transfer Documents, Work Instructions, SOPs and monitoring forms in partnership with other departments.
· Collaborate with project leaders to define trial objectives, materials, parameters, and success criteria. Work closely with formulation scientists, process engineers, and quality specialists to align trial design with product and process goals.
· Coordinate with R&D, production, and QA teams to ensure equipment and raw materials are prepared for trials.
· Document all trial procedures, process conditions, and accurately record process data and product performance metrics during and after trials.
· Analyze trial outcomes, identify key findings, and prepare detailed trial reports with recommendations for improvement.
· Oversee the readiness, calibration, and cleanliness of pilot plant equipment and tools.
· Liaise between R&D, process engineering, quality, and operations teams, ensuring smooth translation of product concepts into manufacturable and commercially viable food and/or beverage products (ensure a smooth transition from pilot trials to full-scale production).
· Participate in project review meetings and/or planning and provide expert input from a process (and/or process standardization) and technology point of view.
· Participate in sensory evaluation activities.
· Investigate and trouble shoot products / product performance and process related issues.
· Provide technical support during the start-up of new and/or modified technologies or equipment within the innovation center and commercial production facility.
