QC Engineer API, SQL, Automation Testing

DatVietVAC Group Holdings is looking for a QC Engineer to ensure the quality of our Fan Commerce Platform across web and mobile applications.

This role focuses on the accuracy and reliability of critical transactional flows, including payments, inventory, cancellations, refunds, and reconciliation. You will perform functional, API, integration, database, and exploratory testing while gradually building automated tests for core platform workflows.

1. Test Planning and Test Design

• Analyze product requirements, business rules, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test procedures for product features and releases.
• Design comprehensive test scenarios for high-risk transactional workflows, including payments, inventory, reservations, orders, promotions, cancellations, refunds, and reconciliation.
• Identify functional, integration, data-integrity, performance, and security risks.
• Build and maintain regression test suites for the platform's core user journeys.
• Prepare appropriate test data for web, mobile, API, integration, and database testing.
• Clarify unclear requirements and identify missing or conflicting business rules before development and release.

2. Functional, API, and Integration Testing

• Perform functional testing across web and mobile applications.
• Test REST and gRPC APIs and validate request, response, authentication, authorization, and error-handling behaviors.
• Test integrations with payment gateways, third-party services, and connected systems.
• Use SQL queries to validate data accuracy, consistency, and integrity at the database level.
• Verify end-to-end transactional flows across frontend, mobile, backend, database, and third-party systems.
• Perform ad hoc, exploratory, negative, boundary-value, and edge-case testing.
• Validate transaction status, payment results, inventory changes, refunds, cancellations, and reconciliation data.
• Conduct regression testing before product releases and major events.
• Collaborate with the SRE team on performance and load testing before high-traffic on-sale periods.

3. Defect Management and Quality Reporting

• Document defects clearly with reproducible steps, supporting evidence, expected results, actual results, severity, and priority.
• Track defects throughout their lifecycle and ensure that issues are properly resolved and verified.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Backend Engineers, Frontend and Mobile Engineers, and SRE/DevOps Engineers to investigate issues and identify root causes.
• Verify bug fixes and assess their potential impact on related product areas.
• Prepare test execution reports, defect reports, and release-quality assessments.
• Communicate product-quality risks and release concerns clearly to relevant stakeholders.
• Support internal teams in investigating product incidents and production issues.

4. Test Automation and Process Improvement

• Gradually develop automated tests for APIs and critical transactional workflows.
• Maintain and improve automated regression test suites.
• Integrate automated tests into the CI pipeline where appropriate.
• Use tools such as Playwright, Cypress, pytest, k6, JMeter, or equivalent testing solutions.
• Support performance, load, and basic security testing activities.
• Identify repetitive testing tasks that can be automated to improve release efficiency.
• Propose improvements to testing processes, defect prevention, test coverage, and overall product quality.
• Contribute to shared testing standards, documentation, and quality best practices.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience

• At least two years of experience in software quality control, software testing, or a similar role within a technology or software product company.
• Hands-on experience testing web applications, mobile applications, APIs, and integrated systems.
• Experience using SQL to validate data and investigate product issues.
• Experience with automated testing or performance-testing tools.
• Experience testing transactional products involving payments, e-commerce, fintech, media, entertainment, or OTT services is highly preferred.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

• Strong knowledge of functional testing and test-case design techniques.
• Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into structured test scenarios and test cases.
• Proficiency in API testing using Postman, REST Client, or equivalent tools.
• Ability to read and understand API documentation.
• Good SQL skills for data validation and issue investigation.
• Hands-on experience with ad hoc and exploratory testing.
• Understanding of software testing lifecycles, defect lifecycles, and Agile/Scrum processes.
• Understanding of integration testing, regression testing, end-to-end testing, and database testing.
• Awareness of product risks relating to performance, security, transaction accuracy, and data integrity.
• Experience with one or more testing tools such as Playwright, Cypress, pytest, k6, or JMeter.
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge for test automation.
• Experience with CI-integrated automated testing is an advantage.
