Quality Inspector - Welding and Coating

I. GENERAL INFORMATION
1. Job Title: Quality Inspector (Welding & Painting)
2. Report to: Steel Fabrication & Coating Manager (Steel production department)
3. Working Location: Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park, Ba Ria & Vung Tau Province, Vietnam (Shuttle bus will be provided from 3 locations: Ho Chi Minh City, Bien Hoa City, and Vung Tau City)
II. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance:
1. Monitor and verify that dimension & welding activities meet the required quality standards and specifications.
2. Monitor and verify that all coating materials and application processes meet the required standards and specifications.
3. Identify and report any dimension & welding defects, any non-conformities, defects, or deviations from project specifications.
4. Recommend corrective actions and follow up to ensure issues are resolved.
5. Establish and management the WPS/PQR for project and Welder qualification.
6. Monitor the Welder qualification status & Coating qualification if required.
7. Monitor steel fabrication & coating process comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and project documentations.
Inspection and Testing:
1. Incoming inspection for the steel plate, accessory and semi-machining product, paint,Solvent, Abrasive...
2. Conduct cutting, fitup & dimension inspection to ensure the products compliant with the drawing
3. Inspect welding proccess, materials, and equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).
4. Perform visual inspections of welds during and after the welding process.
5. Monitoring non-destructive testing (NDT) methods conducted by 3rd party, such as ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT) and review the NDT reports.
6. Verify weld dimensions, profiles, and alignment using precision measuring tools.
7. Conduct Dimension & final inspection and others as requirement of project
8. Conduct coating inspections such as: surface preparation, during and after coating application to ensure compliance with project specifications, including roughness, thickness, and curing....
9. Witness inspection with the Clients or/and Third party.
10. Other inspections & tasks assign by Manager.
Documentation and Reporting:
1. Maintain detailed records of inspection results, including photographs, reports, and test data.
2. Prepare and submit inspection reports to the Manager.
3. Ensure all documentation complies with project requirements and industry standards.
Coordination and Communication:
1. Liaise with Team Leader, Steel Fab & Coating Process Engineer/ QA Inspector/ Engineer and Project Team to coordinate inspection activities and resolve any issues.
2. Provide technical guidance and support to coating applicators and other project personnel.
Safety and Environmental Compliance:
1. Ensure all inspection & test activities are conducted in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
2. Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
