Job Description
We're looking for a Quality & Sustainability Manager to join our dynamic team in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. In this pivotal role, you will champion our commitment to operational excellence and environmental stewardship by developing and implementing comprehensive quality and sustainability programs. The ideal candidate will combine analytical rigor with innovative thinking to drive measurable improvements across our operations while ensuring compliance with Vietnamese and international standards. You'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to embed quality and sustainability practices into the heart of our organization, making a tangible difference in how we operate.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001) and ensure organizational compliance with relevant Vietnamese and international standards
Design and execute sustainability initiatives that reduce environmental impact, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and resource optimization programs tailored to our Phu Quoc operations
Conduct regular audits, inspections, and assessments to identify areas for improvement and document findings with actionable, transparent recommendations
Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for process optimization using statistical tools and data analysis techniques
Lead continuous improvement projects using methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and drive organizational resilience
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality and sustainability practices into daily operations and strategic decision-making processes
Develop and deliver engaging training programs to ensure staff understanding of quality standards, sustainability practices, and regulatory requirements specific to Vietnam
Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for management on quality performance, sustainability metrics, and compliance status, communicating complex information clearly
Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and external auditors to ensure adherence to environmental and quality regulations specific to Vietnam
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor progress toward quality and sustainability goals, adjusting strategies as needed
Identify and assess risks related to quality and environmental compliance, implementing proactive mitigation strategies and demonstrating decisive problem-solving
Support vendor and supplier management practices to ensure sustainability standards are met throughout our supply chain
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience of 5+ years in quality management, sustainability, or related field within a manufacturing or operations environment
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other relevant quality and environmental management systems
Proficiency in process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement frameworks
Demonstrated expertise in data analysis, statistical tools, and performance measurement
Solid understanding of environmental regulations, sustainability best practices, and carbon footprint analysis
Experience conducting internal and external audits and managing corrective and preventive actions
Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with quality management software or ERP systems
Knowledge of supply chain sustainability and vendor management practices
Familiarity with Vietnamese environmental regulations and compliance requirements
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
Proficiency in English (written and verbal); Vietnamese language skills are a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Environmental certifications such as ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or equivalent
Experience in sustainability reporting and carbon accounting methodologies
Background in change management and organizational development
Experience leading cross-functional teams in a multicultural environment
Knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation strategies specific to manufacturing operations
Previous experience working in Southeast Asian operations or similar emerging markets
