The Role
The Senior Manager of the Careers, Industry and Alumni area uses expert knowledge of career development, employment service to advice, manage initiatives that contribute to building a network to support students to increase their employability opportunities, with the aim to enhance students and graduates' employment outcomes and develop soft skills. The role is responsible for leading and supporting the operation and development of the Career, Industry and alumni area, and is responsible for the delivery of all programs for all RMIT Vietnam (under-graduate and post-graduate) and in some selected countries in Asia. The role oversees and leads two large team (in Hanoi and Saigon) and is responsible for partnering with all RMIT Vietnam schools to provide support when Industry and/or Alumni presence is requested by the different stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and drive the strategy of Careers, Industry and alumni area in Vietnam and in SEA according to RMIT Global strategy and presence, and coordinate with Melbourne teams when needed
- Manage and implement Career development and soft skills programs to align (where possible) with Melbourne and introduce creds and online delivery models
- Revise processes and polices to comply with RMIT guidelines and TEQSA requirements
- Grow the mentoring program in Vietnam and in the Region (based on strategy and/or requests), innovate the program and update it to keep it current to the needs of the students and industry
- Annually review and refine the aims and objectives of the Careers area to meet the labour market trends and student's and academic needs
- Design and drive the Industry strategy, work with relevant stakeholders, support all colleges requesting industry support, from academics to marketing and student recruitment
- Develop, grow and implement a portfolio of WIL clients to meet the needs of RMIT product offers and WIL courses
- Analyse market trends and needs and reports to high level management and Academics
- Implement, expand and maintain the portfolio of key strategic industry partners to support all programs (undergraduate and postgraduate)
- Design and keep updated the International internship program (inbound and outbound) and work close with the International team
- Introduce and train the team to use RMIT tools and platforms, such as Careerhub, Salesforce and Raisers edge, RMIT Network
Skills and Experience
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline (Business, Education or related) and relevant experience. A post graduate qualification in a relevant field is desirable.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience managing teams and projects
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships in a culturally diverse team environment.
- Proven ability to exercise initiative, think strategically and creatively, leverage relationships and adopt an active approach to initiatives that position students to be successful in clarifying and achieving their career and employment objectives locally and globally.
- Demonstrated ability in service excellence and a high-quality service approach to students internal and external stakeholders; and supporting less experienced staff to do the same.
- Well-developed leadership and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, liaison, and cross-cultural communication.
