JOB PURPOSE:
The Relocation Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the transfer of products and related manufacturing processes from one production facility to another, ensuring minimal disruption to operations, maintained product quality, and optimized cost and capacity outcomes.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Gather and clarify product requirements with customers and coordinate with relevant functions
2. Plan and manage projects from initiation to completion, including timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resources Lead NPI, development, industrialization, and production launch activities at Phoenix Contact Vietnam
3. Set milestones and track progress (e.g., SOP, ramp-up, closure of old site), and report regularly to General Director and stakeholders; Identify risks, manage changes, and implement mitigation and corrective actions
4. Manage project costs, product cost, and resource allocation effectively
5. Coordinate cross-functional teams (Process Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain,
Purchasing, Planning) to ensure on-time delivery
6. Expedite critical activities and ensure smooth project execution Oversee logistics coordination, material readiness, and production planning
7. Ensure quality compliance through inspections and process control
8. Act as the main contact point for customers and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment
9. Drive continuous improvement, maintain project documentation, and ensure adherence to project governance
10. Analyze current vs. future production capacity
11. Calculate investment requirements (machines, tooling, labor)
12. Ensure documentation transfer (BOMs, work instructions, routings)
13. Coordinate machine relocation or procurement
14. Plan and coordinate transfer of tools, molds, fixtures, and equipment
15. Ensure tooling readiness and condition checks
16. Track tooling availability and timelines
17. Plan material transfer and inventory strategy (buffer stock, safety stock)
18. Coordinate suppliers and ensure continuity of supply
19. Align logistics flows (transport, customs if international)
20. Plan and manage production ramp-down / ramp-up curves
21. Track relocation costs vs. budget
22. Ensure all data is correctly transferred into ERP/MES systems
23. Perform other tasks assigned by the General Director.
