JOB SUMMARY
In order to strenghten our team, we seek a motivated and talented person with a clear interest in data analysis and programming, who contributes to the statistical support of the studies that are performed at OUCRU and who is eager to develop into an independent statistical consultant and researcher.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
More specifically, the tasks involve:
1 to perform statistical analyses and support colleagues with their analyses, using the R statistical program
2 to provide support in the writing of research proposals, protocols (e.g. performing sample size calculations) and statistical analysis plans
3 to create randomization lists that determine treatment allocation in clinical trials
4 to help developing and maintaining R functions and Shiny apps that facilitate data cleaning, data management and performing analyses of clinical trials and observational studies
5 to support in the computer practicals of the courses Introduction to Medical Statistics and Computing in R
The research assistant initially works under close supervision of the head of the biostatistics group and receives on-the-job training. Strong candidates will be encouraged to contribute to the methodological research in biostatistics at OUCRU and can apply for the unit's PhD program.

HOURS OF WORK
Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Exceptional applicants who can only work part-time (min. 50%) will also be considered.

Initially for 1 year, including a 2-month probation period, with the possibility of extension.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- BSc or MSc in i) mathematics or statistics, ii) health sciences or epidemiology with a strong interest in quantitative methods, or iii) a quantitative discipline with an interest in health care.
- Knowledge of the principles of statistical analysis
- Interest and skills in programming
- Excellent written and spoken language skills in Vietnamese
- Appropriate English language skills (level IELTS 6.5)
- Communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to researchers with a different background
- Analytical problem-solving skills, willingness to learn and develop, self-initiative, attention to detail
DESIRED CRITERIA
- Experience in statistical analysis
- Experience with research in a medical environment
- Experience in programming in R
- Ability to contribute to the methodological development of novel approaches for designing and analyzing clinical and epidemiological studies

- Contracted salary ranges: $ 1,2[protected info] gross per month

- Two months salary for annual bonus and clothes
- Annual leave 18 days/year for the first year, a maximum of 30 days
