As a Retail Services Crew Member, you will assist the student leads and management staff in Sparty's sites operations, including evenings and weekends. A Crew Member is responsible for delivering outstanding Spartan experiences to both guests and fellow team members in a diverse atmosphere. You will help make sure the sites are running efficiently and effectively in the absence of management staff.
You will be expected problem solve and address concerns as they arise. It is your job to help staff to implement policies at Sparty's, making sure operations run at their very best.

Typical Job Duties
Deliver outstanding Spartan experiences to both guests at the Sparty's sites and fellow team members.
Assist in supervising daily Sparty's operations in the absence of management, and address any concerns with policy amongst team.
Help run a shift independently, including stocking products, addressing customer concerns, organizing inventory, and evaluating store conditions.
Lead deep cleaning projects to ensure the highest level of quality and food safety within the sites.
Assisting with a variety of human resources tasks including on-site training and enforcing policies.
Compile project lists for team members to complete to ensure the site runs smoothly and is clean, and follow up on project status.
Address guest concerns that arise during the shift.
Comply with and ensure compliance of all team member expectations and conditions of employment within the site.
Complete all training courses in a timely manner, including, but not limited to: barista training, cash training, grill training, and ElevateU compliance training.
Ensure that all site team members and guests are aware of any promotional opportunities, as well as the policies on how to implement them.
Be available to work nights, early mornings, and/or weekends.
Be able to work at least three shifts weekly, and two shifts every other weekend.
Knowledge of cash register operation including: cash drops, operation of POS system, and being in compliance with the Culinary Services Payment Card Industry standards.
Knowledge and execution of industry standards when handling customer food and drink.
Communicate any needs to management staff and the Human Resources Coordinator.

Required Qualifications
Must have work availability for a minimum of 12 hours a week 10:30a-2:30p Monday through Friday
Be enrolled as a student at Michigan State University (during academic year)
Must have a minimum of 12 hours of availability each week, including weekends
Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service
Good communication skills (written and verbal) and be positive and respectful, especially when working with a diverse population
Be able to lead and motivate a team
Be able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends, and attend weekly management/staff meetings for a minimum of 12 hours a week
Preferred Qualifications
Previous customer service experience

Work Hours
Earliest start time is 6:30am and latest possible closing time is 12:30am. Each team member is required to work a minimum of 12 hours per week with at least one weekend shift every other week.
