Roles & Responsibilities
The Sales Representative will support the execution of Matson's sales strategies in Vietnam's TP container shipping market, focusing on contributing to revenue/volume targets, expanding the premium customer base, and reinforcing client relationships under the guidance of the
Sales Manager. Key tasks and objectives include:
• Sales Execution & Target Contribution: Align daily sales activities with the company's business goals and the team's weekly sales plans, focusing on Matson's Vietnam core export sectors. Proactively pursue business opportunities in the TP trade premium market to support the whole sales team in meeting and exceeding revenue, volume, and premium market share targets.
• Client Acquisition & Retention: Identify, prospect, and engage high-value and time sensitive clients (manufacturers, exporters, freight forwarders, NVOCCs) across Vietnam in line with the sales strategy. Maintain and deepen relationships with existing clients through regular follow-ups, needs assessment, and support for customized shipping solutions to ensure high retention rates, aligned with Matson's premium service positioning.
• Market Insights Collection: Act as a front-line contact to conduct on-site market research, monitor industry trends, competitor activities, regulatory changes, and customer needs in Vietnam's container shipping sector. Collect and report accurate local market insights (including customer feedback and competitor observations) to the Sales Manager, supporting the team's strategic decision-making.
• Cross Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Customer Service, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure seamless booking execution, prompt resolution of client issues, and alignment of sales activities with operational capabilities. Coordinate with sales team members in Asian countries as well as US sales team to explore and support container shipping business opportunities.
• Sales Reporting & Support: Track and report key sales data to the Sales Manager, including lifting volume updates, TP trade service performance, market rate dynamics, pipeline customer status, and client acquisition progress. Support weekly sales forecasting by providing front-line booking trend observations to assist the team in adjusting strategies.
• Brand Promotion: Participate in industry events, trade shows, and local networking activities in Vietnam to enhance brand visibility and generate new business leads, in line with the team's brand promotion objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education
• Bachelor's degree or above in Business Administration, International Trade, Logistics, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience
• Minimum 3 years of proven sales experience in the supply chain, container shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding industry in Vietnam.
• At least 2 years of sales experience in TP trade is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to sales target achievement and new client acquisition.
• Basic understanding of Vietnam's TP container shipping market, key export sectors, and port operations.
Technical Skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for data recording, report preparation, and basic presentation tasks.
• Basic understanding of shipping pricing models and carrier contracts.
Soft Skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain professional client relationships.
• Proactive, self-driven, and result-oriented mindset, with the ability to work effectively as part of sales team.
• Detail-oriented and disciplined, with a clear understanding of service commitments and execution standards.
• Good problem-solving abilities to adapt to market changes and address client needs.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
4. Special Requirements
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (written and spoken) - able to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams. Native proficiency in Vietnamese is mandatory.
• Travel Expectations: Willingness to travel regularly within Vietnam and Cambodia to conduct client visits and attend events.
• Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of Vietnam's export regulations, customs procedures, and container shipping market dynamics (with the ability to deepen this knowledge through on-the-job experience).
