Introduction: Founded in late 2022, Wicom is a technology and cross-border e-commerce startup specializing in Print-on-Demand products for the U.S. market, with Amazon as its primary sales channel.
Achievements: After three years of operation, Wicom has successfully built 5 brands, achieved multiple Top 10 product listings across various categories, and generated millions of dollars in revenue.
Who we are looking for: Wicom is looking for responsible, growth-minded professionals who embrace continuous learning, value collaboration, and consistently strive to push beyond their limits.
1. About the role:Wicom is seeking a Sourcing & Procurement Team Leader to build and lead our growing team. At this stage, we are looking for someone who shares our values, thrives in our culture, and is ready to grow with Wicom over the long term.
The supplier relationship is the part of sourcing that a dashboard cannot build for you. This role is for someone who can work directly with Chinese suppliers, make sourcing and purchase decisions, and grow into leading a small team as capability develops.
The central task is to find, assess, and build dependable supplier relationships in China. You will handle hands-on sourcing and purchasing, from understanding product requirements and negotiating commercial terms to keeping orders moving and resolving supplier issues. The role is called Team Leader, but prior people-management experience is preferred rather than required; Candidates with clear lead potential can be developed toward that scope over 6-12 months.
2. What you'll own:
Build the supplier network: identify and evaluate China suppliers, develop long-term strategic relationships, and expand the network around product needs.
Make sourcing decisions: work with R&D on product requirements, market context, competitors, pricing, and standards; negotiate price, MOQ, lead time, and contract terms, and seek ways to improve COGS, payment terms, and supply risk.
Own purchase follow-through: place orders, track production progress and timelines, and coordinate orders through to warehouse receipt.
Protect quality and delivery: coordinate pre-shipment QC and forwarders, manage shipping cost/timing, and resolve import-export, order, quality, and delivery issues.
Maintain supplier operations: coordinate supplier payables and payments, and work closely with R&D, Marketing, and external partners.
Develop team capability and workflows: support the 2-3-person team as it grows, improve handoffs across departments and partners, and contribute to recruiting and training as needed.
The focus is supplier-facing sourcing and purchase work. Broad logistics or end-to-end supply-chain systems experience is not a prerequisite for this opening.
3. What is needed to succeed:Must-have
Fluent Chinese, around HSK 5 equivalent, for direct supplier communication and negotiation. English is not required.
At least 3 years in relevant sourcing/purchasing/procurement work, including more than 2 years working with Chinese suppliers.
Strong sense of responsibility and willingness to keep learning; sound, logical thinking and clear communication with supplier partners.
Commercial negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
Preferred, not required
Previous team-lead or people-management experience. If you have not held a formal leadership role, evidence of initiative, ownership, or informal guidance can show potential to grow into the lead scope over 6-12 months.
Exposure to logistics, import/export, quality control, broader supply-chain operations, Excel, or AI tools. These are useful, but not hard experience gates.
4.
Why this move: For a buyer or sourcing specialist whose scope has focused on purchase execution, this role can broaden ownership into supplier discovery and long-term network-building. This position is suitable for individuals who wish to advance to a small-scale team leader role, or those who have accumulated in-depth expertise in sourcing/procurement (or experience managing this function) and now want to expand into managing the entire supply chain. That broader direction would depend on evolving responsibilities and business needs.
Previous people-management experience is not required; Someone seeking a primary systems, planning, or dashboard remit may prefer a different scope.
