PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF ROLE
The Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for driving, implementing, and continuously improving the company's sustainability strategy across all business functions. This role ensures alignment with international standards (e.g. Travelife or equivalent), while integrating responsible tourism practices into product development, operations, and partner engagement.
The position acts as a central coordinator between internal teams, suppliers, and clients to embed sustainability into the company's core offerings, enhance community impact, and minimize environmental footprint.
RESPONSIBILITIES TASKS
Sustainability Strategy & Implementation
• Develop, implement, and regularly update the company's sustainability strategy, policies, and action plans in line with global standards and company objectives
• Ensure compliance with sustainability certification frameworks (e.g. Travelife) and maintain required documentation and audits
• Integrate sustainability principles into all departments, particularly Product, Operations, and Sales
Product & Supply Chain Sustainability
• Collaborate with Product and Contracting teams to incorporate responsible tourism elements into itineraries and experiences
• Evaluate and onboard suppliers based on sustainability criteria, including environmental practices, community engagement, and ethical standards
• Work closely with local partners to improve sustainability performance across the supply chain
Project Management & Initiatives
• Initiate, lead, and monitor sustainability projects related to:
- Environmental conservation (waste reduction, carbon footprint, plastic reduction)
- Cultural and heritage preservation
- Community-based tourism and social impact programs
• Coordinate cross-departmental execution of sustainability initiatives and ensure timely delivery
Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance
• Define and track key sustainability KPIs (e.g. carbon emissions, waste management, supplier compliance)
• Prepare regular internal and external sustainability reports for management, partners, and certification bodies
• Ensure transparency and accuracy in sustainability data collection and reporting
Training & Internal Engagement
• Design and deliver sustainability training programs for staff across departments
• Build internal awareness and foster a culture of responsible tourism within the organization
• Provide guidance and tools for teams to apply sustainability practices in their daily work
Client & Stakeholder Communication
• Support Sales and Marketing teams with sustainability content, messaging, and client communication
• Respond to client inquiries related to sustainability practices, policies, and impact
• Promote the company's sustainability achievements through presentations, proposals, and marketing materials
Research & Continuous Improvement
• Stay up to date with global sustainable tourism trends, regulations, and best practices
• Conduct research to identify new opportunities, innovations, and partnerships
• Recommend improvements to enhance the company's sustainability performance and competitive positioning
Cross-functional Collaboration
• Act as the key liaison between departments to ensure sustainability is embedded across all touchpoints
• Work closely with senior management to align sustainability priorities with business strategy
• Support regional teams in implementing sustainability initiatives across different destinations
Yêu cầu
QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Tourism background.
• Sustainability degree
EXPERIENCE
• 3-5 years' experience in an inbound travel company in SE Asia
• Experience in working with different cultures.
SKILLS
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Thorough understanding of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
• Experience in effectively working at all levels within an organization, including delivering presentations (PowerPoint, WebEx, etc.), co-coordinating training sessions, etc.
