The ESCO Technical Lead owns the technical quality, accuracy, standardization, and bankability of all L2 Solution Design outputs for SolarESCO projects. The role ensures regional L2 engineers deliver fast, commercially useful, and technically reliable designs for C&I solar, hybrid energy, BESS, grid-interactive, and clean energy investment projects. Regional Sales manages commercial priority and deadlines; the ESCO Tech Lead owns whether the solution is technically correct, financially optimized, risk-controlled, and ready for customer proposal, investment review, or handover to L3 Construction Design.
1. L2 Solution Design Governance
- Own the technical standard for L2 solution packages: system sizing, preliminary layout, simulation assumptions, concept SLD, equipment selection basis, grid connection concept, CAPEX-sensitive optimization, yield estimate validation, and technical risk identification.
- Ensure each solution is suitable for proposal-stage decision making, investment review, and L3 handover.
2. Technical Quality Control
- Review and approve L2 outputs before submission to Sales, customers, investment committee, or L3 teams.
- Ensure designs are feasible, commercially aligned, financially optimized, grid-aware, constructible at concept level, and compliant with BK Group standards.
3. Regional Technical Coordination
- Coordinate with regional Sales leaders to balance deadline pressure with technical quality.
- Maintain consistency of technical decisions across North, Center, and South.
- Escalate regional capacity gaps, recurring errors, and high-risk assumptions.
4. Investment and Commercial Support
- Optimize system design for investment return, LCOE, IRR, CAPEX, OPEX, and long-term yield.
- Support technical input for PPA, DPPA, leasing, ESCO, and customer proposal models.
- Join customer-facing technical discussions when required. 5. L2-to-L3 Handover Control
- Define and enforce the handover package from L2 to L3. - Ensure handover includes approved capacity, assumptions, yield model, equipment basis, grid assumptions, site constraints, risks, customer-specific requirements, and open issues.
6. Standardization and Capability Development
- Develop L2 templates, checklists, approval workflows, simulation assumptions, equipment selection framework, and design risk scoring.
- Coach regional L2 engineers, identify skill gaps, support recruitment, and contribute to BK Group technical certification.
