Technical Manager

We've raised $3M+ from leading investors and have over 100+ customers in Vietnam already.
As we increase the number of projects we install every month, we are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to lead our engineering team and help ensure every SmartSolar project is designed and installed to a high technical standard.
The Role
Together with our technical team, you are responsible for the technical delivery of SmartSolar's solar projects from site survey through design, installation, commissioning, and operation.
You will work closely with our engineers, site supervisors, sales team, EPC contractors, and leadership. Your role is to provide technical guidance, coordinate the work, and ensure a high standard across our projects.
You will work and report directly to our management, who are now building SmartSolar with the mission to build a new green energy company for Vietnam.
What You'll Do
Technical Project Coordination: Coordinate the technical delivery of multiple solar projects from site survey through design, installation, commissioning, and operation.
Team coordination & Reporting: Coordinate weekly goals and arrange the team, report progress to management
Engineering Design Review: Review site surveys, system designs, technical drawings, BOQs, equipment selections, and proposed installation methods before construction.
Installation Quality Control: Work closely with our engineers, site supervisors, and EPC contractors to ensure installations meet SmartSolar's quality and safety standards.
Commissioning & Troubleshooting: Support system commissioning and help the team solve electrical, inverter, monitoring, structural, and other technical issues when they arise.
Technical Standards: Help improve and standardize our engineering, QA/QC, installation, commissioning, and technical documentation processes.
What we look for in you:
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, MEP, Civil Engineering, Construction, or related fields.
3+ years of experience in solar PV, electrical engineering, MEP, or a closely related field.
Practical experience and understanding of rooftop solar installation, system design, construction methods and electrical engineering.
Able to independently review technical drawings, BOQs, technical documents and identify potential problems.
Experience working with construction teams.
Able to coordinate several projects at the same time.
Willing to travel to worksites when required.
Good communication and collaboration skills
Able to work in our office in district 1 full-time with occasional visit to customers or installation sites
Native Vietnamese, conversational English
