JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION PURPOSE:
As an Automation Intern, you will have a chance to develop your practical knowledge in building up
automated tools in forecasting, as well as opportunities to apply knowledge in programming languages in
soldering real-world business wicked challenges in the fast retail industry.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Work closely with Business Analyst & Forecast Specialist to understand challenges of business related
to Forecasting Demand, specifically in the fast retail industry.
Develop automated tool using programming languages (Python preferred) to generate periodic
forecasts, used for Supply & Capacity Planning
REQUIREMENTS
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
1. Technical Skills:
● Programming Proficiency:
Strong understanding of Python programming language.
Experience with libraries like NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib for data manipulation
and visualization.
Familiarity with scikit-learn for machine learning tasks.
● Statistical Modeling:
Knowing time series analysis concepts like stationarity, seasonality, and trends.
Understanding of ARIMA and SARIMA models for forecasting.
Ability to implement and interpret ARIMA, SARIMA, and other time series models in
Python using libraries like statsmodels.
● Data Analysis:
Experience with data cleaning, preprocessing, and exploration techniques.
Ability to analyze time series data and identify patterns and trends.
● Version Control:
Familiarity with Git for version control and collaboration.
2. Additional Skills:
● Problem-solving: Ability to identify and solve technical data analysis and modeling
challenges.
● Learning Agility: Eagerness to learn new concepts and technologies quickly.
● Attention to Detail: Ability to work meticulously and ensure the accuracy of results.
3. Project Specific Requirements:
● Commitment to Output Quality: Adherence to achieving 80% Forecast Accuracy (FA) on
the project.
● Documented Code and Model Understanding: Interns are expected to produce well-
documented and commented Python code that clearly explains the implementation of the
SARIMA model and its functionalities
● Ability to work independently: Interns should be able to manage their tasks effectively and
seek clarification when needed.
● Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members and project
stakeholders.
