1) Main responsibilities:
• Support and assist the Senior Technical Coordinator to deliver ECTAD program in Viet Nam;
• Support FAOHQ EMPRES and NSAH to generate animal disease intelligence;
• Strengthen and support animal disease and transboundary animal disease (TADs) monitoring and sharing information activities in Viet Nam and Asia Pacific region by:
- Monitor animal disease information in local media and social network channels;
- Disease information search using Google and other tools;
- Liaise with animal health authorities at national and local levels for verification of animal disease rumours;
- Participate and contribute to weekly animal health threat updates meetings;
- Assist in preparing regular disease updates for key TADs including African swine fever (ASF) ;
• Develop scientific conference posters, presentations, and manuscripts for publication;
• Provide technical inputs to reports, events, and support field missions;
• Facilitate and support inter-sectoral collaboration and social-behavior change communication; and
• Perform other related duties as required
2) Requirements:
• Professionals in One Health-related disciplines aged 40 or under at the time of application deadline may apply.
• Preferred candidate will have background in veterinary medicine, veterinary science, animal science or related field
• Preferred candidate with experience in disease surveillance and information sharing
• Must be able to work full-time with the host organization for the entire period of fellowship placement.
• Woking knowledge of English
• National of Vietnam or resident of the country with a valid work permit
