Job Purpose:
The Director of Marketing and Communications will report to the General Principal and Deputy Head of Junior School (and Head of Junior School and Head of Senior School in the future), working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Director of Admissions in leading and coordinating marketing and admissions events and promoting access to NLCS HCMC Junior School and future schools. The successful candidate will also be responsible for internal and external communications with the school's keys stakeholders: these include parents, feeder schools and prospective parents, and (working with freelance journalists) for external communications with the media.
Job Description:
Developing an annual marketing strategy to ensure the School maintains the quantity and quality of its admissions
Managing external media consultants to ensure the School has an effective media strategy and creating campaign timetable
Managing, overseeing and auditing the marketing practice maintaining consistency across all points of entry within the School
Monthly Marketing and Communications report to the General Principal
Liaising with either the Director of Admissions or Deputy Head of the Junior School in relation to applicants where appropriate
Management of Marketing and Communications
Coordinating with Director of Admissions
Integrating marketing and communications into the School's Development Plan
Coordinating with leadership about informational event at feeder schools to promote NLCS and to provide advice on the admissions process
Work with Feeder Schools
Creating a coherent marketing and communications strategy for engagement with both current and potential feeder schools
Co-coordinating the work of the Admissions team with assessments and interviews
Writing and editing all marketing and admissions content, including policies and contracts
Analysing prevailing admissions trends internally and externally to ensure the School is able to respond to the current market and sustain its admissions quality and demographic mix long term
Providing clear and disciplined leadership, motivation, and direction for the NLCS Marketing team
Overseeing the School's links with its feeder schools and implementing strategies with the General Principal and Deputy Head of Junior School to develop stronger relationships
Working closely with the Director of Admissions
Communicating to the feeder schools' significant successes, progress (including in the longer-term public examination results) and achievements of their former pupils
Working closely with the team and coordinating with the work of the Admissions team in planning, managing and implementing arrangements for school in action, taster and open events
Facilitating visits and introductions to key journalists at the School
Overseeing School website and publications and managing the work of the Marketing Officer
Analysis - Collaborating with Director of Admissions:
Creating reports for the Senior Leadership Team as required
Reviewing and analysing competitor schools' processes and to keeping abreast of current trends and access arrangements
Providing analysis of trends and forecasts in feeder schools, enquiries, registrations, visits, and offer acceptances
Coordinating feedback from prospective parents and non-joiners
Coordinating regular research activities, these may include questionnaires and focus groups to inform admissions policies and procedures
Overseeing the integrity of the admissions database, ensuring the accurate collection and inputting of admissions data and statistics
Carrying out relevant ongoing market research / competitor research, keeping up to date with market trends, and responding to trends appropriately

The right person for this position will have the following capabilities in terms of personal qualities, professional experience and skills:
Articulate and a strong communicator over the telephone and face-to-face
Highly computer literate with accurate word processing and data-entry and data analysis skills
High levels of energy and stamina to achieve personal/school objectives within set timescales
Excellent attention to detail both in terms of work and personal presentation
Previous experience in a school is preferred
Confident in meeting and communicating effectively with feeder Heads, prospective students and parents
Ability to collaborate with different stakeholders within the School
Ability to adapt and multi-task
Well-organised
Knowledgeable and user of different social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
Experience of working with databases
University degree in marketing and/or communications is preferred
Ability to lead others with confidence and with a collaborative and inclusive style as well as working well as a member of a team
Ability to communicate in writing to a high standard in English and strong command of Vietnamese
