The Operations Manager has responsibility for the overall performance of the transpacific import & export freight forwarding activities of Ben Line Agencies in Vietnam. This includes, but is not limited to, customer service, bookings, documentation, and any associated landside services (trucking, customs, warehousing, etc.)
- Reporting directly to the Country Manager, you will provide leadership and direction to operational teams delivering import & export ocean freight forwarding services, and any associated landside services such as trucking, customs, warehousing, barging etc.
- Support the local Trade Lane team to achieve commercial targets new business development.
- Support the role out of new products and services as required.
- Ensure service delivery is compliant with defined SOPs and transpacific regulations (FMC).
- In conjunction with local HR colleagues: interviews, hires, terminates, executes corrective action, conducts annual reviews, recommends salary changes as and when required.
- Assist in the ongoing growth and development of the BLA forwarding business.
- Monitor operational performance against defined KPIs and takes corrective action when needed.
- Maintain an active working relationship with key stakeholders: Trade Lane & commercial colleagues, overseas partners, key customers, shipping lines, and vendors.
- Other duties as assigned by the Country Manager.
- Answer all general enquiries and quotes promptly.
- Be the focal point to resolve key operational issues with customers, partners, and shipping lines.
- Ensure 100% CargoWise data integrity: supervise colleagues to ensure the timely and accurate entry of information into the CargoWise System.
- Maintain a strong culture of inclusiveness and teamwork within a fast-paced environment.
- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance ocean import/export operational procedures.
