THE ROLE
The Academic Credit Coordinator is responsible for all credit related processes activities for programs offered at RMIT Vietnam. The Academic Credit Coordinator should have a sound understanding of University credit related policy and processes, selection process, program specifications and work closely with local recruitment and enrolment staff, as well as credit and other relevant staff in Melbourne, to ensure a seamless student experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Overview
  1. Manage centralized external and internal credit activities on behalf of Schools.
Expertise and Inclusion
  1. Maintain knowledge of credit standards by staying current with the RMIT Credit policy, Credit process, College of Business credit principles and other relevant credit related documents.
  2. Maintain active engagement with the Australia Credit Transfer team and other stakeholders across RMIT campuses to share information and seek alignment in credit practice.
  3. Provide advice on credit transfer eligibility and required documents for credit assessment to prospective, current students and other stakeholders.
  4. Advise relevant stakeholders of the credit policy, process and principles.
Commitment to Excellence
  1. Maintain a identify gaps, propose improvements for credit related systems, processes, and policy.
  2. Document new/adjusted processes and provide training to relevant stakeholders to maintain consistent understanding across departments.
Credit assessment and process
  1. Conduct non-Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) qualifications assessment following Australian National Office for Overseas Skills Recognition's assessment guideline.
  2. Liaise with relevant Schools to arrange credit assessment for new credit applications that are not covered under the existing credit precedent database for prospective and current students. Approve and release final outcome to students while adhering to credit principles.
  3. Conduct internal credit assessment for internal program transfer students. Liaise with relevant School to arrange credit assessment when necessary.
  4. Process approved course exemptions into RMIT Vietnam Student Record System (SRS) and RMIT Australia Student Administration Management System (SAMS) while making sure credits are applied consistently across RMIT systems and complied with RMIT Credit policy.
  5. Liaise with Vietnam Graduation team, Australia Credit Transfer team and other stakeholders to finalise missing credit for completion purposes.
  6. Liaise with Australia International Pathway team to arrange credit arrangement for external partners when requested.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
  • Bachelor degree in education, business administration or related field.
  • At least three years of experience in an student administration or a similar administrative position.
  • Proven ability to show strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret a wide range of information, solve problems and provide advice on the development of effective solutions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize competing demands and undertake and manage multiple tasks, and capacity to resolve work issues with limited assistance
  • Demonstrated capacity in business process improvement, information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including public presentation skills and the ability to produce a high level of written documentation and business correspondence.
  • Ability to recognise customer needs and appropriate service expectations and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS
If English is not your native language then you will be required to demonstrate a minimum English language proficiency standard at Upper Intermediate level (Linguaskill score 160), equivalent to IELTS (General) 6.0. RMIT Vietnam will require you to complete a Linguaskill test to assess your level of English before an offer of employment can be made.
