Role Overview
Drive growth for an American logistics company by building and nurturing relationships with suppliers and agent partners across Asia, and by delivering accurate, competitive freight rates and solutions to customers. You will be the on-the-ground connector between our Asian carrier/agent network and our U.S.-based commercial teams, ensuring speed, reliability, and margin discipline in every quote.

Key Responsibilities
• Supplier and Agent Network Development
o Identify, onboard, and manage relationships with ocean carriers, airlines, trucking firms, warehouses, customs brokers, and agent partners across Asia.
o Negotiate buy-rates, space commitments, and service levels; maintain current tariff and surcharge knowledge (GRI, PSS, BAF/CAF, FSC).
o Assess supplier performance (on-time, rollover rates, claim responsiveness, pricing stability) and drive corrective actions.
o Map capacity by lane and season; proactively secure allocations and space during peak periods.
• Pricing and Rate Provision
o Build and deliver timely, accurate quotes (spot and contracted) for FCL/LCL, air freight, cross-border trucking, rail, warehousing, and value-added services.
o Analyze costs, margins, and competitiveness; recommend pricing strategies that balance win-rate and profitability.
o Maintain a clean, up-to-date rate repository; standardize templates and SLAs for turnaround times.
o Collaborate with operations to validate feasibility, transit times, cut-offs, and compliance requirements before finalizing rates.
• Customer and Sales Support
o Partner with U.S. sales/
account managers to scope opportunities, tailor solutions, and prepare customer-ready proposals.
o Join customer calls during Shanghai/U.S. overlap; provide market insights, carrier options, routings, and service differentiators.
o Track quote outcomes, reasons won/lost, and feed learnings back into pricing and supplier strategy.
• Market Intelligence
o Monitor Asia trade-lane conditions, capacity shifts, port congestion, regulatory updates, fuel trends, and geopolitical risks.
o Produce concise market updates and lane health scorecards for internal stakeholders and key customers.
• Process and Data Excellence
o Use CRM/TMS/Rate Management tools to log activities, quotes, and supplier data with high accuracy.
o Establish KPIs for quote turnaround, win rate, margin per TEU/kg, supplier OTIF, and continuously improve against targets.
o Support RFQs/RFPs with data analysis, lane benchmarking, and bid submissions.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
• 3-5+ years in freight forwarding, carrier management, or logistics pricing (ocean/air) within Asia.
• Strong negotiation skills and established network with carriers/agents a plus.
• Solid understanding of INCOTERMS, documentation, customs basics, and trade compliance.
• Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with TMS/RMS and CRM tools.
• Bilingual: English & others required; additional Asian languages an advantage.
• Comfortable working across time zones with U.S. teams and global suppliers.
