CHIEF ACCOUNTANT

Key Responsibilities

• Accounting Operations & Leadership
  • Create, implement, and supervise accounting policies and company procedures.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
  • Manage and develop a team of 6-8 accounting staff.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness across all accounting functions.
• Financial Reporting, Budgeting & Analysis
  • Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Analyze financial data and reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide actionable financial recommendations to the leadership team.
• Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Purchasing Oversight
  • Oversee:
    • Accounts payable, and payment process.
    • Accounts receivable and collection process.
    • Purchasing, logistics, and inventory.
    • General ledger, payroll, and utilities.
  • Review and approve all purchase orders before payment.
  • Ensure proper segregation of duties and internal controls.
• Compliance, Controls & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with company financial procedures and internal controls.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and proposed accounting and financial regulations.
  • Avoid legal and compliance risks by enforcing accounting standards and recommending updated procedures.
  • Support internal and external audits, including Year-End Audit coordination with CPA.
• Forecasting & Strategic Planning
  • Establish and maintain current and new financial forecasting protocols.
  • Partner with leadership on financial planning, cash flow management, and growth initiatives.
  • Support strategic decision-making through accurate financial insights.
• SOP Documentation & Process Ownership (Mandatory)
  • Create, maintain, and approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all accounting, purchasing, and billing functions.
  • Ensure SOPs are:
    • Clear, standardized, and auditable.
    • Actively used by the accounting team.
    • Updated as systems, regulations, or workflows change.
  • Ensure all accounting staff follow documented SOPs consistently.
  • Own continuous process improvement across the finance function.
