JOB DESCRIPTION
Position title: HPC Research Engineer
Department: HPC Science Group, Application Team
Location: Tan Binh District, HCMC
Report to: Application Team Manager

Job summary
To introduce cutting edge technologies to HPC including AI solution, you need to adjust company value-added products, both software & hardware that relates to the customers requirement. Most of requirements are mainly provided by public bidding specification from Japanese government agencies/academic institutions. Responsible for verifying a part of bidding requirements, including function testing or performance benchmarking. There are cases that programming/scripting skill would be also needed to fill the gap of software functionality, performance tool tuning, and so on.
Responsibilities
Understand specifications, identify key points, and plan effective responses within strict public bidding deadlines.
Conduct research and testing to ensure requirements are met before proposal submission.
Collect supporting evidence (manuals, test results, performance data) with logical explanations.
Collaborate with your mentor or team to study and improve.
Organize reusable proposal materials for future efficiency.
Stay open to learning and adapting to new technologies.
REQUIREMENTS
Strong scripting ability on Linux based system.
Logical, strong analytical thinking & problem finding skills.
Basic computing infrastructure knowledge and experience
Computer Architecture (Memory Hierarchy, Paging, Multicore System, Disk and Device I/O, etc.)
Computer Networking (OSI Model, TCP/IP protocol, DHCP, DNS, DMA etc.)
Excel in Teamwork and group members.
Communication skills: Verbal and Written.
Preferred Skills
Container knowledge including fluent operation skills of Docker or Kubernetes or Singularity are plus.
HPC knowledge and benchmark tool experience: Linpack, HPL.
AI/ML knowledge and benchmark tool experience: MLPerf.
Workload knowledge including fluent operation skills of Slurm or OpenPBS or JupyterHub are plus.
Parallel file system Lustre or BeeGFS knowledge and benchmark tool experience: IOR or MDTEST or IOZONE are plus.
Programming skills: C/C++, Fortran, Python
Education
Bachelor Degree in Engineering Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Physics or equivalent
