Technical Business Analyst Lead serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that business requirements are accurately translated into functional and technical solutions. This role leads business analysis activities across projects, drives process improvements, manages stakeholder expectations, and guides a team of Business Analysts in delivering high-quality solutions that align with organizational objectives.
The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, business process expertise, technical understanding, leadership capabilities, and experience working in Agile and Waterfall environments.
Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Solution Design
- Lead requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and stakeholder interviews.
- Analyze business processes, identify gaps, and recommend process improvements.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
- Create and maintain:
- Business Requirement Documents (BRD)
- Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS)
- User Stories
- Use Cases
- Process Flows
- Data Mapping Documents
- Ensure requirements are complete, traceable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and Development teams to design scalable solutions.
Technical Analysis
- Analyze system integrations, APIs, databases, and data flows.
- Work closely with developers to clarify technical requirements and constraints.
- Review system architecture and data models to ensure solution feasibility.
- Support technical design discussions and solution validation.
- Assess impacts of system changes across applications and business processes.
Stakeholder Management
- Engage with business leaders, product owners, project managers, and technology teams.
- Facilitate requirement review meetings and solution walkthroughs.
- Manage conflicting priorities and negotiate solution trade-offs.
- Provide regular project updates and requirement status reports.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor Business Analysts within the organization.
- Establish BA standards, methodologies, templates, and best practices.
- Conduct requirement quality reviews.
- Support resource planning and team development activities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Project Delivery Support
- Participate in project planning, estimation, and prioritization activities.
- Support Agile ceremonies including:
- Sprint Planning
- Backlog Grooming
- Daily Stand-ups
- Sprint Reviews
- Retrospectives
- Assist QA teams with test planning and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Ensure delivered solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
Data & Reporting
- Perform data analysis and business impact assessments.
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reporting requirements.
- Use data insights to support decision-making and process optimization.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems... or related discipline
Experience
- At least 10 years of Business Analysis experience.
- At least 3 years in a Senior Business Analyst or Lead Business Analyst role.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale or system implementation projects.
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams in Agile environments.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of:
- SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
- Agile/Scrum methodologies
- System integration concepts
- Database structures and SQL
- API and web services
- Software architecture fundamentals
- Experience with:
- Jira
- Confluence
- Azure DevOps
- Visio
- Power BI
- SQL tools
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation, data models, and system diagrams.
Business Analysis Skills
- Requirements elicitation and documentation
- Process modeling (BPMN, UML)
- Gap analysis
- Root cause analysis
- Data analysis

- Change management
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
- PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)
- Agile Business Analyst Certification
- Scrum Master Certification
- Experience in Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Experience in Digital Transformation, ERP, CRM, HRMS, or Data Analytics projects
